GETTING CONNECTED
HOW TO SET UP YOUR ESB, GAS AND TELEPHONE ACCOUNT
ESB ACCOUNT
1. Have your name and old address
2. Have your account number (for existing users only)
3. Have your final ESB meter reading from your old address
4. Have your new address
5. Have the first meter reading from your new address
6. Call 1850 372 372 and open your new account
BORD GAIS ACCOUNT
1. Have your name and old address
2. Have your account number (for existing users only)
3. Have your final Bord Gais meter reading from your old address.
4. Have your new address
5. Contact Bord Gais at 1850-456200 to have your gas supply disconnected from your old address
6. Give Bord Gais your new address and they will set up a new account
7. If the meter is locked you will have to make an appointment to have it unlocked (this can take
up to one week)
TELEPHONE ACCOUNT
1. To open a new account dial 1901 and give your name and address to the sales representative
(there is a cost to open an account)
2. To change an existing account dial 1901 and give your name, account number and address to
the sales representative.
3. If you have a telephone rental allowance from the Dept. of Social and Family Affairs
call 1890 500 000
TO REDIRECT YOUR POST FROM YOUR OLD ADDRESS
1. Download the application form or pick one up at your local Post Office
2. Fill out form and return it with the appropriate payment to, Redirection Centre, Customer Services,
An Post, G.P.O, O’Connell Street, Freepost, Dublin 1
