Admissions criteria<br />
General<br />
The Admissions Criteria for PDIC<br />
consists <strong>of</strong> two key elements:<br />
1. Academic qualifications<br />
2. English language level<br />
PDIC will consider you for admission<br />
once an Application Form has been<br />
completed in full and submitted<br />
with evidence <strong>of</strong> qualifications and<br />
English ability. If you are eligible for<br />
entry, then PDIC will provide verified<br />
admissions documentation as follows:<br />
• An Offer <strong>of</strong> Admission for entry<br />
to your chosen PDIC programme<br />
(indicating your expected 2nd year<br />
transfer to the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Plymouth</strong>),<br />
from the PDIC Admission Office.<br />
• Once your deposit payment has<br />
been received and your Acceptance<br />
<strong>of</strong> Admission Form and associated<br />
documentation have been confirmed<br />
by PDIC, you will be issued with a Visa<br />
Support Letter with Confirmation <strong>of</strong><br />
Admission to Study and containing<br />
all <strong>of</strong> the information you will need<br />
to take with you when you apply for<br />
your UK General Student Visa at your<br />
nearest British High Commission.<br />
English language entrance<br />
requirements<br />
The minimum acceptable English<br />
language levels for direct entry<br />
to the programmes are:<br />
International Foundation programmes<br />
– IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent)<br />
1st Year Degree (equivalent) programmes<br />
– IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent)<br />
Masters Preliminary programmes<br />
– normally IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) or<br />
as per the programme requirements<br />
Applicants to PDIC will be required to<br />
provide certified evidence <strong>of</strong> their English<br />
language competency; such evidence<br />
must not be older than two (2) years.<br />
English language preparation<br />
If you do not meet the minimum English<br />
language requirements for your programme,<br />
you may choose to enrol in the PDIC<br />
English language preparation course to<br />
improve your English language pr<strong>of</strong>iciency.<br />
PDIC <strong>of</strong>fers ‘combined’ packages to<br />
students requiring English language<br />
preparation prior to entering<br />
their academic studies at PDIC<br />
and <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Plymouth</strong>.<br />
Upon successful completion <strong>of</strong> the<br />
appropriate English language course at<br />
PDIC, students are eligible to progress<br />
their academic studies with PDIC<br />
without any further English tests.<br />
