Admissions criteria
General
The Admissions Criteria for PDIC
consists of two key elements:
1. Academic qualifications
2. English language level
PDIC will consider you for admission
once an Application Form has been
completed in full and submitted
with evidence of qualifications and
English ability. If you are eligible for
entry, then PDIC will provide verified
admissions documentation as follows:
• An Offer of Admission for entry
to your chosen PDIC programme
(indicating your expected 2nd year
transfer to the University of Plymouth),
from the PDIC Admission Office.
• Once your deposit payment has
been received and your Acceptance
of Admission Form and associated
documentation have been confirmed
by PDIC, you will be issued with a Visa
Support Letter with Confirmation of
Admission to Study and containing
all of the information you will need
to take with you when you apply for
your UK General Student Visa at your
nearest British High Commission.
English language entrance
requirements
The minimum acceptable English
language levels for direct entry
to the programmes are:
International Foundation programmes
– IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent)
1st Year Degree (equivalent) programmes
– IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent)
Masters Preliminary programmes
– normally IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) or
as per the programme requirements
Applicants to PDIC will be required to
provide certified evidence of their English
language competency; such evidence
must not be older than two (2) years.
English language preparation
If you do not meet the minimum English
language requirements for your programme,
you may choose to enrol in the PDIC
English language preparation course to
improve your English language proficiency.
PDIC offers ‘combined’ packages to
students requiring English language
preparation prior to entering
their academic studies at PDIC
and University of Plymouth.
Upon successful completion of the
appropriate English language course at
PDIC, students are eligible to progress
their academic studies with PDIC
without any further English tests.
