Stand-alone Optical Power Meters<br />
Description<br />
The ZOOM 2 is an accurate hand-held optical power meter, capable of measuring optical power and<br />
loss in a wide range of test environments, including LAN, MAN, WAN, Telco, CATV, Manufacturing, and<br />
Laboratory. Its 2.5mm universal connector port is able to connect to a wide variety of popular fiber optic<br />
connectors, including SC, ST, & FC. An optional 1.25mm universal port can be purchased separately<br />
to allow for connection to LC, MU, and other SFF connectors. The ZOOM 2 optical power meter is<br />
enclosed in high-impact plastic, and a protective rubber boot provides additional shock protection. Its<br />
easy-to-read 4-digit LCD display shows optical power in dB and dBm, selected wavelength, and<br />
battery power, and it has an intuitive 2-button interface for controlling power ON/OFF and wavelength<br />
selection. The ZOOM 2 is multimode and singlemode ready, and is NIST-traceable to 850, 1300, 1310,<br />
and 1550nm.<br />
The ZOOM 2 also has the option of being upgraded to a fully-functional professional-grade fiber link<br />
certification meter, complete with all of the accessories necessary for standards-based link<br />
certification.<br />

As an option, the charger port in the ZOOM 2 can be replaced by<br />
a precision-coupled visual fault locator (VFL), which is useful for<br />
visually checking continuity or identifying fibers, as well as<br />
detecting faults in the near-end of the fiber link, such as in a splice<br />
tray or OTDR dead zone. For more details about including a VFL<br />
