MUMMY DEAREST . . .<br />
A door creaked. Harry reached under his coat, drew his Colt .38.<br />
Through <strong>the</strong> archway, a linen-wrapped figure came limping. It looked<br />
like a mummy, with its head wizened and nearly skeletal. One arm<br />
hung stiff at <strong>the</strong> figure's side, and its limp grew more pronounced as it<br />
took a few more faltering steps into <strong>the</strong> Antiquites Egyptiennes Wing.<br />
"Flee, O despoiler <strong>of</strong> tombs," <strong>the</strong> mummy intoned.<br />
Harry grinned. "If you're already dead, friend, a bullet won't bo<strong>the</strong>r<br />
you," he told <strong>the</strong> mummy.<br />
<strong>The</strong> creature took one more faltering step. "Huh . . . just a moment,<br />
monsieur . . ."
