<strong>Coca</strong>-<strong>Cola</strong> <strong>Amatil</strong> (CCA): the<br />
company, listed on the Australian<br />
Stock Exchange produces, sells<br />
and distributes <strong>Coca</strong>-<strong>Cola</strong> trademark<br />
brand products in six countries –<br />
Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia,<br />
South Korea, Fiji and Papua<br />
New Guinea.<br />
The <strong>Coca</strong>-<strong>Cola</strong> Company (TCCC):<br />
the world’s largest beverage<br />
company. TCCC has a 32%<br />
shareholding in CCA.<br />
Bottlers: business entities that<br />
manufacture, distribute and sell<br />
beverages of The <strong>Coca</strong>-<strong>Cola</strong> Company<br />
under a franchise agreement.<br />
Carbonated soft drinks (CSDs):<br />
sparkling non-alcoholic beverages<br />
such as <strong>Coca</strong>-<strong>Cola</strong>, Fanta and Sprite.<br />
<strong>Coca</strong>-<strong>Cola</strong> system or Coke system:<br />
TCCC and its bottling partners. In this<br />
report the Coke system refers to joint<br />
initiatives of CCA together with TCCC.<br />
Cold Drink Equipment: coolers, vending<br />
machines and fountains in the<br />
marketplace that cool beverages for<br />
immediate consumption.<br />
Concentrate: base of a beverage, to<br />
which water and other ingredients are<br />
added to produce beverages. These are<br />
mainly supplied to bottlers by TCCC.<br />
Container Deposit Levy: regulations<br />
which enable consumers to receive a<br />
refund when they return an empty<br />
bottle (currently five cents per bottle,<br />
only in South Australia.)<br />
Functional beverages: a drink, such as<br />
fruit juice, which has other benefits<br />
beyond hydration and the supply of<br />
carbohydrates.<br />
Group: describes all CCA operations<br />
across all geographic locations.<br />
Horeca: Hotels, Restaurants<br />
and Cafes.<br />
Lightweighting: reducing the amount<br />
of raw materials used to produce<br />
lighter packaging.<br />
LTIFR: Lost Time Injury<br />
Frequency Rates.<br />
Megalitre: one million litres,<br />
equivalent to one olympic<br />
swimming pool.<br />
Non-CSDs: non-carbonated, nonalcoholic<br />
beverages which include<br />
waters and flavoured waters, juices,<br />
sports and energy drinks and teas.<br />
PET: Polyethylene Terephthalate.<br />
The material from which CCA’s<br />
plastic soft drink bottles are made.<br />
Plant: a bottling facility, where<br />
beverages are produced.<br />
The <strong>Coca</strong>-<strong>Cola</strong> Quality System (TCCQS):<br />
the global quality management<br />
system of TCCC, aligned to the<br />
ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001<br />
(Environment) and OHSAS 18001<br />
(Health and Safety) standards<br />
endorsed by key bottlers.<br />

Company and key anchor bottlers.<br />
Unit case: a unit case is the<br />
equivalent of 24 8oz (237ml) serves<br />
or 5.678 litres.<br />
Water Use Ratio: the KPI used by<br />
CCA to measure water use in the<br />
bottling plant, expressed in litres<br />
of water used per litre of produced<br />
beverage (Litres/Finished Beverage<br />
Litres – L/FBL).<br />
This report is printed on paper which is Elemental Chlorine Free and uses pulp derived from sustainable forests.<br />
