HIV/AIDS PREVENTION<br />

CCA Papua New Guinea has a<br />

Workplace HIV/AIDS Management<br />

and Prevention Policy which includes:<br />

• Educational and awareness campaign;<br />

• Availability of free condoms;<br />

• Voluntary testing for all employees;<br />

• Confidential counselling service for<br />

HIV infected employees;<br />

• Financing most of the cost of<br />

anti-retroviral drugs for all<br />

infected employees.<br />

Talent Development<br />

Australia<br />

CCA offers a range of talent<br />

development plans including<br />

Individual Performance Plans which<br />

are reviewed with employees three<br />

times a year; Individual Development<br />

Plans for employees to design skill<br />

and competency plans with their<br />

managers; Organisational Capability<br />

Review (OCR), a succession planning<br />

tool and Mentoring Programs for high<br />

potential employees.<br />

There is a strong focus on developing<br />

leadership talent through a range of<br />

programs: People Management<br />

Development Program for new<br />

managers; for high potentials,<br />

Emerging Leaders Program; the<br />

Senior Leadership Program for our<br />

senior leaders; and Coaching for<br />

Business Performance.<br />

CCA also supports employees<br />

wishing to pursue their studies.<br />

SPC Ardmona<br />

The final implementation of a<br />

Performance Management system<br />

for SPCA, consistent with the CCA<br />

Australia framework, will be<br />

completed in 2007.<br />

A further initiative called “Fruit<br />

University”will be available to all staff<br />

in 2007 to enable them to become<br />

more aware of the technical aspects of<br />

the fruit industry. The Fruit Uni will be<br />

developed in conjunction with a local<br />

tertiary institution and accredited, and<br />

it will include all aspects of the supply<br />

chain from the orchard to the shelf.<br />

New Zealand<br />

CCA operates an annual performance<br />

management cycle which involves the<br />

establishment of a performance plan<br />

and the completion of a mid year and<br />

end of year review.<br />

Further initiatives include a Coaching<br />

for Results Program for managers;<br />

a framework offering development<br />

options to all employees; Coke Uni,<br />

the core curriculum of courses that<br />

link to our core competencies; and<br />

an E-learning program.<br />

There is also a range of leadership<br />

training programs for all levels,<br />

including a Senior Leadership<br />

Program developed in partnership<br />

with the University of Auckland.<br />
