Tony Sparacino ’98 graduated from the University of Iowa in 2003<br />

with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and will receive his<br />

Masters degree in Clinical Psychology this summer from Argosy<br />

University in Phoenix, Arizona.<br />

Megan (Stephenson) Vasecka ’99 reports that she graduated from the<br />

University of St. Francis in December 2005 with a Bachelor of Science<br />

in Nursing. She is currently working as a registered nurse at St. Joseph<br />

Medical Center in Joliet. She and her husband Ken also welcomed their<br />

first child, Kenneth Wade, into the world on March 8, 2006.<br />

Erik Pavlovich ’00 married Erin Lea Wiruth on April 29, 2006. Erik<br />

attended the University of Kansas and is presently employed as a<br />

Trainer for Steak ‘N Shake in Lawrence, Kansas.<br />

Jon Pohlman ’00 completed his Master of Science in Mechanical<br />

Engineering at the University of South Carolina in May. His thesis was<br />

entitled "Quasi-Static and Dynamic Tensile Properties of Friction Stir<br />

Welded Aerospace Alloys." He has accepted a position with the Timken<br />

Company at their ICAR site in Greenville, South Carolina and works<br />

in the automotive engine thrust bearings group.<br />

Eddie Farmer ’01 has been serving in Iraq since May 2005 with the<br />

Second Battalion, 130 Infantry Division of the Illinois Army National<br />

Guard. On October 16, 2005, Spc 4 Farmer was awarded the Combat<br />

Infantryman Badge "for participating in ground combat operations<br />

under enemy hostile fire to liberate Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi<br />

Freedom III." Eddie has now returned to the United States arriving on<br />

American soil in late April. Eddie plans to return to Illinois State<br />

University where he is a senior and will then pursue a law degree.<br />

Luke LiManni ’02 graduated on May 14, 2006, from The University<br />

of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Advertising.<br />

Jennifer Maccagnano ’02 graduated from the University of Notre<br />

Dame in May with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Preprofessional<br />

Studies Cum Laude.<br />

Jenn Purcell ’02 has graduated on May 6 2006, Magna Cum Laude<br />

with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Dominican University.<br />

Jenn received the Distunguished Senior in Elementary Education<br />

award, the Distinguished Senior in Service Learning award, and the<br />

Mazzuchelli Award. The Mazzuchelli Award recognizes a senior who<br />

has exemplified the motto, values, and mission of Dominican<br />

University throughout their four years. She also received the<br />

Distinguished Senior in Psychology and Education.<br />

Michelle Garrett ’04 graduated from Trend Setters College of<br />

Cosmetology, a Paul Mitchell Partners' <strong>School</strong> in September 2005 and<br />

is now licensed and working at Jeffrey LaMorte Salon & Day Spa in<br />

Frankfort, Illinois.<br />

Rachele Rinas ’04 and Nicholas Rubino were married April 7, 2006.<br />

Rachele and Nick met at MCHS in their Freshmen year. Rachele will<br />

be a junior at Loyola this fall after having been on the Dean's List her<br />

first two years. She is also continuing her ROTC training in the US<br />

Army in addition to her classes, and will go to Spain this summer to<br />

complete her minor in Spanish. Nick is serving in the Army and has<br />

returned from a deployment in Iraq serving with the 82nd Airborne<br />

Division. Currently assigned to Ft. Bragg in North Carolina, Nick has<br />

completed the selection process for "Special Forces" and will continue<br />

training at Ft. Bragg.<br />

Elizabeth Berger ’05 made the Dean's List at the University of Notre<br />

Dame. She is still pursuing her passionate love of mathematics and<br />

education. During her second semester, she worked at an inner city<br />

high school in South Bend as part of the university's student teaching<br />

program. Elizabeth also played defensive tackle on her dorm's flagfootball<br />

team.<br />

Massive <strong>Marian</strong> Martrimony<br />

As featured in the Fall 2005 issue of <strong>Marian</strong> Matters, Kevin Keane ’84<br />

and Erin Brady ’84 became engaged after reconnecting at their 20th<br />

class reunion in October 2004. The happy couple married March 18,<br />

2006. The following members of the <strong>Marian</strong> “family” joined in the<br />
