kokoro kai
senior activity program
At Kokoro Kai, participant Masako and volunteers Ruth and Kazuko take a
short break from their Kanji game then get right back into the action.
Masako has discovered a joyous place to connect with others and stay active.
She is part of a close family with creative staff and dedicated volunteers
like Ruth and Kazuko. Games, exercise, music, and other activities engage
her mind and body and encourage social interaction. A tasty lunch and
teatime make sure that her body can keep up with her mind!
Kokoro Kai is about health and wellness, fun and friendship. The name
Kokoro Kai defines this program’s uniqueness, “a meeting of hearts and
minds.” Participants find Kokoro Kai an invigorating change from everyday
routines, and caregivers have respite time to re-energize. A sense of kimochi
(deep caring) brings everyone in Kokoro Kai closer together.
