In order to achieve these goals and objectives, the ministry has the following functions:<br />
1 Formulation and implementation of development policy<br />
2 Long-term planning of tourism development at national level<br />
3 Coordination with other government entities and the industry<br />
4 Formulation and implementation of laws and regulations for tourism<br />
5 Establishment and administration of facility and service standards<br />
6 Adoption of sound environmental principles in tourism development and<br />
operation<br />
7 Statistical collection, compilation and reporting<br />
8 Conducting of research studies<br />
9 Planning and implementation of human resource development for tourism<br />
10 Establishment and administration of training standards, in coordination with<br />
the concerned authorities and<br />
11 Leasing of land for tourism and registration of all tourism operators and<br />
facilities<br />
