5th April, 2011 – a scientific conference
entitled “1241 – The Battle of Dobre Pole
with the Mongols – the site, background,
environment, relations” was organized
to commemorate the 770 th anniversary
of the Battle of Legnica.
12th April, 2011 – a conference
entitled “A Historical Approach to
Literary Culture in Legnica” was
organised by The Faculty of Humanities.
19th May, 2011 – The
Witelon State University of
Applied Sciences in Legnica
was ranked as the 3 rd best
Polish State University of Applied
Sciences by “Rzeczpospolita”
and “Perspektywy”.
1st June, 2011 – The
University was conferred
a certificate of “The School
of Leaders” and a special
prize of “Primus” in the Collegium
Novum of Jagiellonian
University.
15th June, 2011 – at a ceremony
at The Angelus Silesius
State University of Applied Sciences
in Wałbrzych the Rector
of The Witelon State University
of Applied Sciences in Legnica,
prof. Ryszard K. Pisarski PhD,
hab. was decorated with the “Person
of Merit” medal and awarded the title
of honoris causa-honoris gratia.
1st September, 2011 – a new 4-year
term of the University authorities began.
The Witelon State University of Applied
Sciences in Legnica has became successful,
and its achievements to date seem sufficient to
guarantee the Institution a leading position among
this type of schools of higher education in Poland.
