East Area Paryushan Report :
Happy Diwali - Oshwal News
The paryusan was cerebrated very successfully in our area from
21st August to 28th August 2006. During the eight days of the
festival, it was pleasing to see so many people participating, young
as well as old. Each day after Pratikaman, we had vachan, Bhavna
geet, Arti and Mangal Divo, followed by Raas garba and Dandia
raas with music. Mahavir Janam Kalyanak was celebrated on
Friday 25th August 2006. On Saturday 26 th August, a large number
of families took part in samuh aarti
We were also fortunate to have eight Tapasvis in our area - see
below for details and photo.
Savantsari Bhojan was held on 2nd September 2006.
The East Area Committee wishes to thank all the members for their
generous donations, prabhavna and assistance during the
Paryushan and Savantsari Bhojan.
We were also fortunate to have Pujya Munishree Jinchandra
Maharaj visit our area on Wednesday 30 th August, who gave a very
practical and enlightening Pravachan, which was appreciated by the
large audience that attended.
We would like to thank everyone for their help and support in
making our area activities successful.
Finally, the East Area Committee asks for your forgiveness if
we have knowingly or unknowingly hurt your feelings in any
respect during the year – ‘MICHHAMI DUKKADAM’.

A KID ON POVERTY
One day a father and his rich family took his son to a trip to the country with the firm purpose to
show him how poor people can be. They spent a day and a night in the farm of a very poor family.
When they got back from their trip the father asked his son, “How was the trip “Very good Dad!
“Did you see how poor people can be The father asked. “Yeah!”, he replied. “And what
did you learn” The son answered, “I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have
four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden, they have a creek that
has no end. We have imported lamps in the garden, they have the stars. Our patio
reaches to the front yard, they have a whole horizon. When the little boy was finishing,
his father was speechless. His son added, “Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are!”
