Services<br />

<strong>JCC</strong> Transportation Service:<br />

Door-to-door transportation to and from the MAR-<strong>JCC</strong> within boundaries is available. Free to Members & TQOL,<br />

$20 for Non-Members and Silver Sneakers. For registration and information, call: (305) 932-4200, ext. 142. Funded<br />

by the Alliance for Aging.<br />

<strong>JCC</strong> Weekly Thursday Shopper’s Service:<br />

Free grocery shopping transportation! Round trip door-to-door from your home to the Publix<br />

Supermarket at Skylake Mall. Seating is on a first come-first served basis and boundaries apply.<br />

Program is made possible through the Lorraine Fay Linder Grocery Shopping Transportation Fund for<br />

Senior Citizens and Publix Supermarkets Charities. Reserve by Tuesday noon: (305) 932-4200, ext. 142.<br />

In-house Intake Counselor:<br />

A free service. Meet with the MAR-<strong>JCC</strong>’s intake counselor to either assess one’s physical and emotional needs<br />

or to locate community resources. For a confidential appointment, call Galit Shemesh-Leibovici, MSW, at<br />

(305) 932-4200, ext. 142.<br />

Nutritional Hot Meals Program:<br />

A free Kosher lunch is served at the MAR-<strong>JCC</strong>, Monday-Friday, at 11 am, to anyone age 60+.<br />

Call <strong>Jewish</strong> Community Services for information and registration: (305) 899-8301. Transportation available within<br />

boundaries.<br />

Kosher Home-Delivered Meals:<br />

For adults 60+. Each meal consists of 1/3 of the daily nutrition required for adults. Call <strong>Jewish</strong> Community<br />

The “Quality of Life” – Senior Wellness Program (TQOL)<br />

Chair: Carol Kaufman<br />

TQOL is funded by the State of Florida through the Alliance for Aging, by Miami-Dade County, by the<br />

United Way of Miami-Dade, and by the Health Foundation of South Florida. TQOL uses fitness and<br />

exercise training to improve the ability of senior adults to perform necessary activities of daily living<br />

and utilizes social events and educational programs to enhance and promote each participant’s<br />

emotional wellness. The TQOL program is open to all year-round Florida residents over the age of 60.<br />

TQOL also offers to its members, free monthly Monday health related lectures accompanied by light<br />

refreshments. Mark your calendar for the following...<br />
