November 9 – Rabin Memorial, at 6:30pm, Aventura Turnberry <strong>Jewish</strong> Center. A community-wide observance<br />
that memorializes Israel’s fallen Prime Minister through readings, film, and song. Conducted by Hebraica’s<br />
school of Madrichim.<br />

Contemporary Israeli film is brought to the big screen on a bi-monthly basis. Films have English subtitles and are<br />
screened at the Frank Theatres/Intracoastal Mall. Tickets - $10, may be purchased in advance by calling<br />

First-Place winner at the Haifa International Film Festival (2009) this Leonid Prudovsky film tells the story of a taxi<br />
driver with a burning desire to visit Paris, a five hour flight from Tel Aviv, but his fear of flying stands in his way.<br />
He forms a bond with a married Russian immigrant planning to immigrate to Canada. As the movie unfolds,<br />
the chances of these two individuals ending up together is revealed.<br />

The story of two professors, father and son, in the Talmud Department of Jerusalem’s Hebrew University, who<br />
are rivals for the country's most prestigious award, the Israel Prize. Lior Ashkenazi and Shlomo Bar Aba star in the<br />
film, which is one of the most anticipated projects from Israel this year. The film was awarded “best screenplay”<br />
at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.<br />
