Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten (Ages 3 & 4 years old & turning 5 after 9/1/11)<br />
School Begins Monday, August 22<br />
Center-based classrooms are set up for areas of math, science, writing, reading, art, manipulatives, library,<br />
language, and housekeeping/life skills using the model of the Creative Curriculum for Preschool. Outside<br />
playtime provides gross motor development in the Jordan Savage Playground. <strong>Jewish</strong> holiday celebrations,<br />
Shabbat programming, mitzvot, and <strong>Jewish</strong> culture are integrated into the program. Weekly activities that are<br />
part of the regular curriculum and conducted by program specialists include music, physical education (swim<br />
and sports instruction), and rikudim (Israeli dance).<br />

Monthly Workshop Series for Parents...<br />
Join us for our first FREE parenting workshop that will provide parents with tools they may need to help<br />
raise their child(ren).<br />
Communication That Works • November 9, 9:30-11:30am<br />
Good communication is the number one parenting skill for successful parents. This workshop will teach<br />
how to communicate effectively with your child(ren); discuss the use of "door openers" instead of "door<br />
slammers" and learn about active listening, the use of empathy, problem solving, and the "good" use of<br />
praise. Review principles to improve communication with your child(ren), from toddlers to teenagers.<br />
Facilitator: Dr. Patricia Jaegerman<br />
Dr. Patricia Jaegerman is a licensed Psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of<br />
Professional Psychology, with a specialty in Couples and Family Therapy. She works with multicultural parenting groups<br />
and has conducted worskshops in Illinois, Florida, Caracas, and Tokyo.<br />
