Valentine’s Day Re-cap 

On Saturday, February 14 VillageWalk of Bonita Springs 

celebrated Valentine’s Day with the romantic tunes of Sinatra. 

Michael Dutra is a Sinatra song stylist who really portrays this 

icon tremendously. With over 500 Sinatra songs in his repertoire 

Mr. Dutra really set the mood for this sold out crowd. Table 82 

catered the affair and everyone was delighted with the food, fun, 

and, of course, romance in the air. The ladies received a rose 

while the men romanced them onto the dance floor. The entire 

night seemed like a dream come true and a great ending for any 

Valentine’s Day.

Health Fair and Resident Business Expo! 

Join us in the Town Center on Saturday, March 7 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. for our first Health Fair and Resident 

Business Expo. Physicians Regional Healthcare will be on site with their doctors to educate residents with 

hearing screenings, blood pressure and glaucoma checks, as well as information on infectious diseases, 

gynecology and colorectal cancer. NCH Community Blood Center will be on site to run a blood drive. We are 

in need of 20 donors for this wonderful cause. If you are interested in giving back, please register with Tammy 

at 949-9909 by Wednesday, March 4. 

In the main ballroom we will be running our first resident business expo. If you are a resident of VillageWalk 

and have your own business, this is the event for you! Each vendor will be allotted one six-foot table to 

promote their business. This is a great chance to drum up business as well as reach people in your own 

community. There is a $10.00 nonrefundable entry fee for one six-foot table. You may select your table in the 

layout at the time of payment, no exceptions. Contract may be picked up at the HOA Office window. Tables 

for the expo are on sale now. Door prizes will be awarded through out the event! Stop by the Town Center on 

Saturday, March 7 to pick up some great information on health, local businesses, and possibly win a few great

Blood Drive 

NCH Community Blood Center will be on-site Saturday, March 7 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at our Health Fair 

to run a blood drive. We are in need of 20 donors for this wonderful cause. If you are interested in donating

Spring Fling with Billie Dean and Dawn! 

Join us on Saturday, March 28 for this not-to-be-missed dinner dance! The famous duo of Billie Dean 

and Dawn will be on site and rocking the night away. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:00 p.m. and live 

entertainment from 7:00-10:00 p.m. Dinner will be catered by our restaurant, Table 82, and will consist of 

grilled chicken picata, baked scrod in a Tuscan marinara sauce, baked ziti, garlic smashed potatoes, mixed 

vegetable melody, salad, rolls, butter and key lime pie. Price per person for this event is $25.00. Seating

St. Pat r i c k’s Day ! 

On Tuesday, March 17 join us in the restaurant as we 

celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Themed dinner buffet consisting 

of corned beef, cabbage, an assortment of ethnic dishes and 

live entertainment. $15.00 per person includes tax, tip and nonalcoholic 

beverage. Specialty drinks will be available as well as 

raffle prizes. Only 100 reservations are available. Buffet opens 

at 5:00 p.m., live entertainment from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Come and 

go as you please. Stop by the HOA office window to sign up 

and pay. You will receive a ticket for admission for this event. 

Ya Ya Sisterhood 

Join us in the Town Center on Wednesday, 

March 11 at 12 noon for this special luncheon and 

presentation. Storyteller Mary Williams will be 

performing her famous “My Fractured Fairy Tails.” 

This presentation is for all of VillageWalk and their 

guests to attend. The Fractured Fairy Tales are classic 

tales that have a modern twist with a little bit of 

humor for the audience to enjoy. Ms. Williams will 

be telling four stories for this series entitled Ugly 

Cindy and the magical glass slippers, Kermit the 

Frog Prince, the Princess and the Pea that felt like 

a bowling ball and Sleeping Beauty and the rude 

awakening. Tickets for this magical day are $20.00. 

Please sign up with the HOA Office by Monday, 

March 9 to reserve your seat! Lunch will be catered 

by Table 82 consisting of assorted mini sandwiches, 

pasta salad, fruit tray and a sweet surprise for dessert. 

Community Garage Sale 

Join in the fun on Saturday, March 21 from 8:00-11:00 a.m. 

right here in VillageWalk as we host a community garage 

sale! If you have some items you wish to get out of the house, 

please sign up at the HOA Office window or call Tammy at 

949-9909. When registering, please leave your name, phone 

number and what items you will be selling. So far we have 

Almaco, Islet and Yellow Fin on the listing. Get your street 

in ASAP! On Friday, March 20 a garage sale list will be 

placed out in the Town Center for everyone to pick up. All 

participating homes will be listed and a community map will 

be attached! All garage sale hosts must have their addresses to 

the Town Center by 12:00 noon on Friday, March 20 to make 

the listing. If you miss the deadline, you are still permitted to 

have a garage sale, but will not be included on the handout. If 

you have friends or relatives who wish to attend, please plan 

ahead and put them on your guest list for the day. 

Community Wine Tasting 

Join us on Friday, March 27 for a wine tasting with 

Southern Wine and Spirits of South Florida from 5:30-7:30 

p.m. in Table 82. Wine enthusiast Brandon Stephens will be 

on-site to educate residents on a few reds and a few whites 

for this evening of delight. Your evening includes tastings 

from the featured wines and light hor d’oeuvres served 

by Table 82. $12.00 per person and there is a 50-person 

maximum for this event. Please sign up with Tammy at the 

HOA Office window by Thursday, March 26. 

Fashion Show and Luncheon 

Join us on Wednesday, March 25 at noon for our first 

luncheon and fashion show in VillageWalk. Evelyn and 

Arthur, has a 20-year history in Florida, and are located in 

the Promenade Shops at Bonita Bay. They will be on-site to 

assist us in hosting our First Resident Fashion Show. Lunch 

will be catered by our restaurant Table 82 and will consist of 

house salad with rolls and butter, egg noodle primavera, lemon 

chicken, and Key Lime pie for dessert. $18.00 per person 

for this afternoon of fun and fashion. Guests of VillageWalk 

residents are permitted to attend. Free raffle prizes and 

giveaways! Don’t miss out on the fun! 

Pancake Breakfast 

Join in the fun on Sunday, April 5 from 9:00- 

11:00 a.m. for this pancake breakfast in the Town 

Center. It’s a great way to get together and enjoy 

a few flapjacks and coffee on a Sunday morning. 

Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, orange juice 

and coffee. Pre-sale tickets are $5.00 each or at 

the door it’s $7.00 per person. You may stop by 

the HOA Office window to register or see one of 

the Activities Committee Volunteers to get your 

seats ahead of time. Tickets are on-sale now and 

guests of VillageWalk residents are permitted to 

sign up. Please bring your voucher with you for 

admission to the pancake breakfast. We are looking 

for volunteer runners and servers to help make this

Special Events (CONT.) 

Sunset Cruise on Sweet Liberty 

Set sail out of the City Dock in Naples aboard the 

Sweet Liberty on Friday, March 13. The Sweet Liberty 

winds through the Gordon River, passing Port Royal 

and giving passengers a great view of some of Naples 

largest homes. The trip to the Gulf of Mexico takes 

about 40 minutes, encountering mangroves and a variety 

of wildlife along the way. After entering the Gulf of 

Mexico, passengers will view our famous sunset — a 

memorable, breathtaking experience. Boarding begins 

at 5:45 p.m. with a 6:15 p.m. departure returning around 

8:15 p.m. The City Dock is located at 880 12th Ave 

South, Naples, FL 34102. The price per person for this 

trip is $32.00. Please sign up and pay at the HOA Office 

window by Friday, March 6. Checks can be made out to 

VillageWalk. You may BYOB on the cruise. 

Everblades Hockey Game 

Cheer your Florida Everblades on to victory on Saturday, 

April 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Germain Arena. Tickets are $15.00 

and you may pick them up at the HOA Office window today. 

Along with the game ticket you will receive a 25% off coupon 

good for merchandise in the pro shop that night, and a group 

ticket reward which entitles you to 2 complimentary tickets 

to the first round of ECHL playoffs. You must fill out the 

form completely and turn it into the information table located 

by Section 108. An email confirmation with redemption 

information will be sent to you directly. Don’t miss out on this 

great deal, tickets are limited. 

Easter Egg Hunt 

Join us on Saturday, April 11 from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 

a.m. for our Easter Eggstravaganza. Enjoy a special 

appearance by -- you guessed it -- the Easter Bunny! 

Age groups are as follows: 0-3, 4-6 and 7 & up. The 

event is $7.00 per child for this day of delight. Checkin 

begins at 8:45 a.m. Easter Egg hunt will go by age 

group. 10:00 a.m. Live Reptile Show in the Town 

Center. Kids, tell your parents, parents, tell your kids! 

This will be the event of the spring! Each child will walk 

away with a prize, and of course, as many eggs as they 

can collect. Must sign up and pay with the HOA Office 

window no later than Thursday, April 9, no exceptions! 

Parents, we need a final count 2 days prior for prizes. 

Please don’t let your child miss out because you missed 

the deadline; register today!! We are looking for a few 

bakers and volunteers to make this event a success.

End of Season Weekend Bash! 

Pajama Party Fundraiser! 

We are hosting our Second Annual Pajama Party 

fundraiser. Help make a difference in many children’s 

lives this season. The Pajama program offers warm 

pajamas and books to needy children, many who 

are waiting and hoping to be adopted. They are 

youngsters who do not know the comforts of a mother 

or father to tuck them in to a cozy bed and read them a 

bedtime story. Many of these less fortunate kids have 

been abandoned or abused; most deprived of any love 

at all. Each year VillageWalk of Bonita Springs will 

be doing their part in this wonderful endeavor to help 

these children in need. Join us in the Town Center on 

Friday, April 17 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. for this themed 

dance. DJ Joe will be rockin’ the night away for all 

attendees. If you would like to get in the spirit of the 

event, please come dressed in your PJ’s! But this is 

not a must. We will provide the ice, cups, and nonalcoholic 

beverages. So BYOB and bring a snack to 

be shared. Tickets for this event go on sale Monday, 

March 2 and will be open to guests of residents 

beginning Monday, March 16. $5.00 per person with 

a pair of PJ’s to donate. $7.00 per person without. 

Weekend pass for PJ party and BBQ at the pool is 

$10.00 per person with a pair of PJ’s to donate. If you 

are unable to attend our party, but would still like to 

donate to this worthy cause, we have a donation box 

located in the Town Center for early drop-off. The 

Pajama Program is looking for PJ’s in all sizes and 

gently-used or brand-new children’s books. We thank

BBQ at the Pool 

Part two of our Weekend Celebration! 

Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, non-alcoholic beverages 

and all paper products will be available for this day 

in the afternoon sun. Grab your neighbors and enjoy 

this fun social by the resort pool. Join us at the resort 

pool on Sunday, April 19 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Bring 

your favorite CD’s and relax in the sunshine. Tickets 

for this event are on sale now and open to guests of 

residents on Monday, March 16. Price for the event is 

$7.00 per person, $3.00 for children under 12 or only 

$10.00 for the weekend pass with a pair of PJ’s. Don’t

What a great evening on Monday, March 30 here 

at VillageWalk. A little bit of wine and cheese and a 

beautiful presentation on Italy. Sample a few wines 

from Italy as you experience the scenery firsthand 

with this informative travelogue by Traveling Camera 

Productions. The fun starts at 6:30 p.m. and the 

presentation begins at 7:00 p.m. The cost is $10.00 per 

person for wine, cheese and the presentation. Please

Monday, March 23 to secure your spot. 10-person 

minimum to hold class. 

Ladies Pamper Night! 

If you missed the first set of makeovers you will 

not want to miss these! Join us in the Town Center on 

Tuesday, March 31 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Dillard’s will be 

on-site to pamper our ladies for the evening. Each lady 

will receive a makeover, wine, light hors d’oeuvres and 

giveaways! The cost for this event is only $10.00 per 

person. Please make your reservations at the Town Center 

window by Friday, March 27. When registering you may 

pick out your makeover time slot and the makeup counter 

you wish to visit. Time slots are every half hour. 

In addition, Trim and Tone Spa will be giving 

complimentary foot detoxes, 15-minute chair massages 

and a demonstration on their Vela Shape Cellulite 

machine! L’ Image the Salon will be giving free facials.

Creative Cuisine 

Invites You To A Luncheon And Class Entitled, “ Easy 

Entertaining On The Run” 

Karen Maihofer of Creative Cuisine Cooking School is 

coming to Village Walk- Bonita for the first time this season 

on Monday, March 23 in the Town Center. 

Ms. Maihofer has been doing cooking classes and gourmet 

luncheons in the Florida area for the past 17 years and owned 

and operated a cooking school of 900 students in Milwaukee, 

WI for 35 years. She currently goes to over 30 different 

communities, including VeronaWalk and IslandWalk during 

each season. She is also the author of 8 cookbooks, has been 

a food writer for Creative Living magazine, and has had a 

radio call in show on culinary questions in Milwaukee. She is 

a certified culinary instructor with the International Assoc. of 

Culinary Professionals. 

For this class and luncheon, Karen will bring you a 

wonderful menu for entertaining whether it is for 4 or 40! This 

is a unique menu that is easily prepared ahead and will be sure 

to wow your guests! 

After a short cooking demo of the foods to be served, a 

buffet will be set up of the following for you to enjoy:

WaterColors! 

Each class is designed to accommodate student artists at 

every level, from beginner to advanced. Each class will include 

a lesson that will be incorporated in the weekly paintings. 

No drawing experience is necessary. Paintings will include 

flowers, lighthouses, landscapes, animals, buildings, etc. Join 

us on Friday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in the Town Center for this 

new class. The cost for the class $30.00 for a three-hour session 

with two instructors. By having two instructors, students will 

have a greater one on one experience. The watercolor ladies 

have been painting together for many years and together ran an 

art gallery on Broad Ave., in Naples. They have studied under 

several watercolor artists, but found that Terry Madden, worldrenowned 

watercolorist, gave them the greatest inspiration and 

so that is who they received their certificate under. If you wish

Madama Butterfly 

Regal Hollywood 20 presents an encore presentation of 

Puccini’s Madama Butterfly in HD on the big screen! The 

encore presentation (captured live on Saturday, March 7th) 

will be shown for one day only on Wednesday, March 18th, 

2009, at 7:00 p.m. in all time zones. Cristina Gallardo- 

Domâs, the original Butterfly of the production when it 

opened the 2006-07 Met season, returns to the title role 

of the late Anthony Minghella’s stunning production, a 

classic of the new Met repertory. Marcello Giordani stars as 

Pinkerton. Patrick Summers conducts. Tickets are $20.00 

and can be purchased from the HOA Office Window. Only

reaches of Asia. 

In 1993 Greg Mortenson was the exhausted survivor 

of a failed attempt to ascend K2, an American climbing 

bum wandering emaciated and lost through Pakistan’s 

Karakoram Himalaya. After he was taken in and nursed back 

to health by the people of an impoverished Pakistani village, 

Mortenson promised to return one day and build them a 

school. From that rash, earnest promise grew one of the 

most incredible humanitarian campaigns of our time—Greg 

Mortenson’s one-man mission to counteract extremism by 

building schools, especially for girls, throughout the breeding 

ground of the Taliban.

Singles! 

The Singles Group here at Village Walk has been 

having a great time lately. We have picked up quite a 

few new people since we started all this last October. 

We had a great turn out at the wine tasting hosted 

by Table 82 and sponsored by Brandon Stephens of 

Southern Wine & Spirits. There was a great assortment 

of red and white wines and Mike Ricci supplied some 

delicious hors d’oeuvres to go along with the wine. 

The group also had its first “Second Friday” dinner at 

Table 82 on February 13 – no triskaidekaphobia in this 

group since the next one falls on Friday, March 13th! 

On Sunday, the 15th, some of us went down to Doc’s 

Beach House for a bite. Needless to say the place was 

packed but we managed to find parking spots quickly. 

Can’t say the same about a table, however, so we 

braved the chilly night air until one was ready. This 

is just such a great place to kick back and we’ll try it 

again after season when it isn’t quite so busy. 

Don’t forget to sign up for the March 28th dance with 

Billy Dean & Dawn. They are a great dance band and 

we had a terrific time the last time they were here. 

Just a note about who we are. We are just a group of 

diverse people who share one thing: We are unattached 

and sometimes have no one to attend the dances with, 

or go to a movie or out to 

dinner with, etc. So, if you fall

Village Walk Of Bonita Springs 

Tennis Rules And Regulations 

Availability: The Tennis Facilities are available to all residents 7 days a week. 

Hours of Play: 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. 

Definitions: Resident: VillageWalk owner or lessee. (When leasing to a non-resident, the owner forfeits rights to use the Town Center Amenities). 

Guest: Overnight houseguest. Guest has resident’s rights. 

Visitor: Day Guest. 

Prime Time: 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. seven (7) days a week from January 1 through April 30. Prime time is reserved for Round Robin and 

for resident play. Visitors are permitted during “Prime Time and “Non-Prime Time” hours provided at least one resident is on the court with the 

visitor (s) at all times. 

Lights: Lights may be turned on at each individual court as required. Lights will automatically shut off at 10:00 P.M. However, players are 

requested to turn off lights upon completion of play. 

General: Appropriate tennis attire including tennis shoes only must be worn at all times. Unacceptable attire would include but would not be 

limited to bathing suits, tank tops, cut off jeans, sandals, running and cross training shoes. Appropriate shirts, shorts, shoes and/or warm-ups are 

required wear at all times. Excessive yelling, noise, profanity and racquet throwing will not be tolerated at any time. Pets, bicycles, roller blades, 

skateboards, scooters, etc. are not permitted on the courts. Parking of bicycles on the walkway between the courts is not allowed. All bicycles must 

be parked in the designated area. Courteous behavior and proper language are also required. 

Children: Parents will be responsible for their children’s behavior at all time on the courts and will be responsible for any damages that they may 

cause. Children under twelve (12) years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times, unless participating in an organized tennis program 

or lesson. 

Reservations: Court reservations must be made on the sign up board located at the Tennis Pavilion. The earliest sign-up can be done is after 

8:00 P.M., one week in advance only. Entries shall be made in using first initial and last names. Playing time is limited to 1 1/2 hours. Backto-back 

sign ups are not permitted. Reserved courts are held for 10 minutes and then become available to walk-ons. Anyone who walks on the

Round Robin Play: Doubles Round Robin for men and women are on a drop-in basis. No sign-up is needed for morning Round Robin Play and 

is scheduled from 8:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for men; Tuesday and Thursday for women. Saturday will be open 

tennis play for Round Robin from 8:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. Three courts shall be allotted for Round Robin play. The ten (10) minute cancellation 

policy is in effect regarding unused courts. 

Activities: Any type of tennis activity (e.g. tournaments, special events, league play, parties, etc.) must be presented to the VillageWalk Activity 

Director. 

Leagues: League practice or play is not permitted during Prime Time hours. When League play is scheduled, the Captain is responsible for 

providing the names of the visiting team to the “Entrance Gate Security Office” 24 hours in advance. League practice or play shall be allotted up to 

a maximum of 5 courts and all team roosters must be comprised of at least 50% VillageWalk residents. League play has preference over all other 

play, and must be scheduled via the Reservation Clause above. 

Instructions: Individual or group instructions may be given to Village Walk residents and their guest/visitors. Instructions may be given by only 

Certified USPTA or USPTR members only and must be residents approved by the Tennis Activity Committee and the Town Center Manager. 

These individuals must provide proof of $1,000,000 in Liability Insurance naming VillageWalk as an Additional Insured. 

Court Cleaning: Tennis courts will be groomed and maintained by VillageWalk Maintenance Personnel. Problems with the court surfaces, lines, 

nets, etc. should be reported to the Town Center Front Desk. 

Rule Infractions: Rule Infractions should be in writing to the Village Walk Office via the Town Center Front Desk.

Tournament to be followed by Awards Dinner at the 

Town Center. Format: 64 players, men and women. 

This is an event that includes men and women players 

of all levels competing against each other. The teams 

will be picked randomly at the Captain’s Draw Party 

on March 13 at 7.30 PM from the names of those 

who have signed up. Each team will have pairs of 

doubles. Men, women and mixed teams will play a 

match against their own level for total team points, 

ending in an overall championship. Reservations/ 

payments must be made with Tammy at the office by 

Friday, March 6, 2009. Anyone interested in serving

HOA Information 

When a major disaster occurs, professional first responders 

are not always available to meet the demand for its services. 

When that happens, “CERT” can be called into action. 

The Bonita Springs Fire Department has formed this awardwinning 

group of volunteers known as the “Community 

Emergency Response Team.” CERT members are trained 

and called out to assist the Fire Department when needed for 

hurricane, tornado, and flood preparation and recovery, search 

and rescue, emergency triage medical assistance, use of fire 

extinguishers, setting up temporary rehabilitation facilities 

for firefighters and victims, and assisting in the event of other 

local disasters. 

There is presently a CERT team consisting of 9 San Remo, 

Palmira, and Village Walk residents that is in training with 

the Fire Department. The teams generally consist of a mixture 

of permanent Bonita residents and “snowbirds.” There are 

currently 4 active CERT teams in Bonita Springs and the 

group in training will be the fifth and the only one on the east 

side of I-75.

HOA Information 

No diving 

No diving is permitted in the Resort/Lap Pools 

Diving in the Resort or Lap pool is not permitted 

as it is not safe to dive. The resort pool is 5’9” at its 

deepest area, and the lap pool is 5’6” at its deepest 

area. Parents, please explain to your children diving 

is not allowed. Children under 12 years old must be 

accompanied by an adult, who is expected to enforce 

the Pool Rules. For everyone’s safety, know and 

follow the Pool Rules: 

Swimming Pool Rules 

1. Pools are open from 7:30 A.M. until 8:30 P.M. 

or Dusk, whichever is earlier. 

2. No pets allowed on the pool deck or in the pool. 

3. Proper bathing suits are required. Children under 

12 years of age must be accompanied by an 

adult while in or at the pool area. Infants must 

wear diapers with plastic pants over the diapers 

(Swimmees) until trained. Incontinent adults 

must wear proper protective garments. 

4. No running on pool deck. 

5. No rafts, inner-tubes, floats, or balls 

allowed in pool unless during a supervised 

recreational program. 

6. Glass containers are prohibited in the pool area 

and on the pool decks. 

7. No pool furniture of any kind shall be 

removed from the area. 

8. All radios, CD players, tape decks and 

televisions are to be used with headphones. 

9. Night swimming is not allowed. 

10. All pool area rules as posted in pool areas must 

be followed by all residents and guests. 

11. Swimmers must shower before entering the pool. 

12. NO DIVING 

Landscaping Service 

In an effort to reduce operating costs while not 

sacrificing service, the Association Office has recently 

renegotiated the landscape contract. TruGreen will no 

longer be retained as the contractor effective March 15, 

2009. Our new contractor is GreenCare. Our landscape 

procedures will remain the same. Should you have 

a landscape or irrigation concern contact the Town 

Manager’s Office at 239-949-9909.

Pets Must Be Kept On A Leash 

Please keep your pets on a leash at all times as per 

our documents and Lee County ordinance. Carrying 

a leash with you while your pet runs loose is NOT in 

compliance with our documents or the county ordinance! 

Skateboard and Bikes Damage 

the Town Center 

Children who ride their skateboards on the Town 

Center pavers, at the pavilion on the tiles and at the 

basketball court are damaging pavers, tiles and courts. 

Bikes ridden on the paver sidewalks of the Town 

Center put pedestrians at risk, and when parked at the 

Town Center mark the walls and columns and impede 

pedestrian movement. These activities are not permitted. 

Anyone who sees others in violation, please contact the 

HOA office. Those who cause damage will be billed for 

repairs to the Town Center. 

Post Office Hours Change 

Effective March 2, 2009 the Post office will be open 

from 10 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
