For over 40 years, Hydrotechnik is setting milestones for hydraulic measuring
Pressure sensors
The present state-of-the-art industrial technology for pressure measuring is subject to continuous
change. The various needs of the users can no longer be met with standard products alone.
Nowadays, customers specify their particular requirements oriented on special needs.
With this in mind, the new business unit “solutions for pressure sensors” was created, providing
users with pressure sensors for all their applications.
Based on decades of experience in the area of hydraulic measuring technology we have created, in
cooperation with a renowned manufacturer of pressure cells, an efficient production unit for pressure
sensors to satisfy both high volume demand and small quantities for specialist use.
Using the pressure measuring cells-technology proven many million times in the automotive sector we
achieved a considerable know-how which is now available for use in any industry. It allows to satisfy
almost all special requirements fast and at low costs.
Description
Principle
The pressure sensors were conceived to meet the
requirements of most applications in the sector
of industrial measuring technology.
They excel in high precision, robust and compact
design as well as flexibility to adapt to varying
measuring tasks.
An almost limitless combination of the
mechanical and electrical components offers an
impressive width of pressure sensor variations.
Technology
The physical characteristics of a measuring cell are defined by membrane thickness, membrane
diameter, layout and adapted full bridge. The stainless steel membrane made of CrNi-steel is absolutely
vacuum-tight, extremely burst-proof and may be used anywhere in hydraulics, pneumatics,
environmental technology, process technology, semi conductors and automotive technology. The simple
and robust construction of the measuring cell, using highly integrated amplifications (ASIC) with
standard-CMOS-technology, the design – measuring cell, connecting frame, circuit board with ASIC and
housing with plug – was optimised with regard to shock and sealing. The ASIC-chip has been designed
for various construction parameters. Thus, in an alignment process the following parameters may be
fully automatically set: offset, offset-temperature range, span, temperature range and linearity.
The result of the combination of measuring cell and signal processing results in a low error tolerance
throughout a high working temperature range.
Modern pressure sensors, subject to automatic balancing, specify their total error rate only via the
operational temperature range, as opposed to earlier individual error specifications. This led to users
considering only the total error for the complete sensoring system.
