The DeFilippi Family: Joe, Harry (on dad’s shoulders), Jennifer (Goldstein) ’91, Mia (left) and Chloe (right). With the big event only a few months away, the 50th Reunion Planning Committee remains very busy in preparing what promises to be a truly wonderful experience for all returning members of the class. Co-chairs Tom Baxter and Bob Bishop report that great progress has been made on the reunion yearbook and the class gift, two major priorities facing the committee with deadlines fast approaching. Tom and Bob, along with Steve Carmick, Ralph DeOrsay, Morrie Heckscher, John Hill, Bill Lamb, Rich Liversidge, Hunter McMullin, and Jim Zug have been convening in person and by phone monthly, and all are excited about celebrating this fantastic milestone for the class at the same time as the school bids adieu to the Merion and Devon Campuses. The class gift has been earmarked for a scholarship fund honoring the deceased members of the Great Class of 1958, and we are hoping that each and every classmate will want to be part of this project. It seems somehow appropriate that the class which was the first to graduate in the Jim Quinn era (following the iconic Greville Haslam’s 36-year run as head of school) should be the last class to have its 50th Reunion at Merion. We hope and trust that everyone has marked May 2-4, 2008 on their calendars and will join in the tribute to 87 years along City Line Avenue, and perhaps even more important, 50 years since the commencement ceremonies of one of EA’s most distinguished classes! We encourage you to check the class reunion Web page regularly at www. episcopalacademy.org/reunions, where you can see details of the activities on reunion weekend, and to see who has committed to coming back.
