Day 1: Depart – Flights depart Australia in <strong>the</strong><br />

morning and arrive in New York on <strong>the</strong> same day.<br />

Orientation walking <strong>tour</strong> of <strong>the</strong> local area on arrival.<br />

Day 2: New York Sightseeing – Enjoy a panoramic<br />

coach and walking <strong>tour</strong> of New York’s highlights. See<br />

a per<strong>for</strong>mance <strong>this</strong> evening at 59E59 Theaters, an Off<br />

Broadway venue that features new, innovative and<br />

invigorating work. Overnight New York.<br />

Day 3: Dance and drama workshops begin – This<br />

morning dance students attend <strong>the</strong>ir first class at<br />

Alvin Ailey Studios. Drama students have a workshop<br />

at Stella Adler Studios. This afternoon, relax on a<br />

Circle Line cruise and see <strong>the</strong> Statue of Liberty.<br />

Day 4: NYU – This morning both dance and drama<br />

students will attend a talk at TISCH, New York<br />

University’s <strong>School</strong> of <strong>the</strong> Arts, <strong>for</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation about<br />

tertiary education and career development. Students<br />

attend second workshops with ei<strong>the</strong>r Alvin Ailey or<br />

Stella Adler <strong>this</strong> afternoon. Overnight New York.<br />

Day 5: Apollo Theater – Today is free <strong>for</strong> matinee or<br />

o<strong>the</strong>r sightseeing. This evening attend Amateur Night<br />

at <strong>the</strong> Apollo Theater in Harlem. The legendary venue<br />

has launched <strong>the</strong> careers of icons such as Stevie<br />

Wonder, Michael Jackson and Lauryn Hill and is a<br />

popular arena <strong>for</strong> emerging and established African-<br />

American per<strong>for</strong>mers. Overnight New York.<br />

Day 6: This morning drama students attend an Acting<br />

Audition workshop. Dancers return to Harlem <strong>for</strong> a<br />

<strong>tour</strong> and class at <strong>the</strong> Dance Theater of Harlem. This<br />

afternoon, explore <strong>the</strong> Chelsea and <strong>the</strong> Meatpacking<br />

district and walk <strong>the</strong> ‘High Line’ park, created on an<br />

abandoned industrial railway line. Overnight New York.<br />

Day 7: Today both drama and dance students attend<br />

a Musical Song and Movement class based on <strong>the</strong><br />

production students will see later. In <strong>the</strong> afternoon<br />

enjoy a behind-<strong>the</strong>-scenes <strong>tour</strong> of <strong>the</strong> Lincoln Center,<br />

housing <strong>the</strong> main opera house and concert hall of<br />

New York. Attend a major Broadway musical <strong>this</strong><br />

evening. Overnight New York.<br />

Day 8: Rockefeller Center – This morning we <strong>tour</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> NBC television studios at 30 Rockefeller Center<br />

and <strong>the</strong>n ascend to <strong>the</strong> ‘Top of <strong>the</strong> Rock’ viewing<br />

plat<strong>for</strong>m <strong>for</strong> an unbeatable view over <strong>the</strong> city.<br />

Day 9: Fly to LA – Panoramic coach <strong>tour</strong> on arrival.<br />

This evening see a production at one of LA’s <strong>the</strong>atres.<br />

Day 10: Workshops and Warner Bros – Drama<br />

students participate in an ‘acting <strong>for</strong> film’ workshop<br />

with renowned practitioner, Margie Haber. Dance<br />

students will have a private class at The Edge Center<br />

<strong>for</strong> Per<strong>for</strong>ming Arts. In <strong>the</strong> afternoon, students will<br />

rendezvous <strong>for</strong> a back-lot <strong>tour</strong> of <strong>the</strong> Warner Bros<br />

Studios. Overnight Los Angeles.<br />

Day 11: Disneyland – One day park hopper pass to<br />

Disneyland and Cali<strong>for</strong>nia World in Anaheim.<br />

Workshops are available <strong>for</strong> both dance and drama<br />

groups. Overnight Los Angeles.<br />

Day 12: Santa Monica – Visit Santa Monica Pier<br />

entertainment and shopping district. Continue directly<br />

to <strong>the</strong> airport as flights depart Los Angeles in <strong>the</strong><br />

evening.<br />

Day 13: On flight – crossing <strong>the</strong> International Date<br />

Line.<br />

Day 14: Arrive Australia in <strong>the</strong> morning.
