Health risk factors
Men in regional/remote areas were more likely than their urban
counterparts to experience chronic health conditions & risk factors.
For example, they were:
- 40% more likely to report daily smoking
- 30% more likely to report risky/high risk alcohol consumption
- 6% more likely to be overweight or obese
- 7% more likely to undertake insufficient exercise
- Less likely to possess an adequate level of health literacy
But more likely to consume recommended serving of vegetables
