Dear Parents/Guardians of 8 grade students - Westview Middle School

Dear Parents/Guardians of 8 th grade students:
Can you believe we are getting to the end of the three years together This
is a bittersweet time for all of us and we want to thank you for all of your
support. We have a lot planned to celebrate the end of your student’s middle
school career and we wanted to let you know all of the dates to mark your
calendars.
April 25 - JOB DAY (no formal classes held at Westview for 8th graders
due to job shadowing); evaluation forms/emails due by Friday, May 3
April 27 - 7th and 8th grade SVVSD District Track Meet at LHS (8:30 -
2:30)
May 3 - 8th grade PAWS carnival at Westview - outside Student Center
(1:40-2:30) *We need a few parent volunteers/donations
May 11 - 3rd annual Happy Smackah Fun/Run 8:00am *sign up today!
May 16 - 8th grade Film Festival 6:00pm *We need a couple of volunteers
to help with popcorn
May 21 - EPIC Center (Fort Collins) field trip (9:30 - 2:00) *students need
about $10 - 20, swimsuit and/or ice skates *We need a few chaperones to
come with us if possible!
May 22 - Dawson Park picnic/cookout *We need parent volunteers to
grill/donate food/organize (11:00 - 2:30)
- 8th grade Slideshow in Westview's gym (6:00pm) *parents and
families welcome
- 8th grade dance in Westview's student center (7:00pm) *We need
parent volunteers to decorate/donate food/organize
May 23 - Last Day of School pancake breakfast (teachers put this on for the
students) 10:25 - 12:00. *parents may pick up early on this day
Permission slips for EPIC center, Dawson Park picnic/cookout, and leaving
early on the last day of school will be coming soon.

If you have a 5th grader coming to Westview next year, we also have our 5th
grade parent night on May 13 at 6:00pm.
If you would like to volunteer for any of the activities or you would like to
donate items or money for the carnival, cookout, or dance, please contact
