<strong>Student</strong> <strong>assessment</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>evaluation</strong> <strong>criteria</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Applied</strong><br />

<strong>Marine</strong> Conservation Ecology<br />

The grading system is available in the course plan <strong>and</strong> can be described as follows:<br />

A = 95% = excellent<br />

B = 85% = very good<br />

C = 75% = good<br />

D = 65% = satisfactory<br />

E = 60% = sufficient<br />

Fx = 50% = insufficient<br />

F < 50% = totally insufficient<br />

The grade will mainly be given based on the quality of your individual assignment.<br />

However, the level of participation in the group discussions will also be included in<br />

the <strong>assessment</strong>.<br />

In the <strong>evaluation</strong> we will assess the quality in relation to:<br />

1. Stated of objective/s<br />

2. Relevant level <strong>for</strong> the stated focus group<br />

3. Layout of the assignment / written <strong>and</strong> oral presentation<br />

4. How clear the message came across<br />

5. Factual / scientific contents<br />

6. Conclusion / did the assignment meet the objective<br />

Description of the grade levels:<br />

A: Excellent underst<strong>and</strong>ing in <strong>Applied</strong> <strong>Marine</strong> Conservation Ecology. The student has<br />

demonstrated in depth knowledge <strong>and</strong> has an excellent underst<strong>and</strong>ing of the subject<br />

area. He/she has demonstrated excellence in the ability to research, test, discuss <strong>and</strong><br />

present (oral <strong>and</strong> written) in<strong>for</strong>mation in the subject area<br />

B: Very good underst<strong>and</strong>ing in <strong>Applied</strong> <strong>Marine</strong> Conservation Ecology. The student<br />

has demonstrated in very good knowledge <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong>ing of the subject area.<br />

He/she has demonstrated a great ability to research, test, discuss <strong>and</strong> present (oral <strong>and</strong><br />

written) in<strong>for</strong>mation in the subject<br />

C: Good underst<strong>and</strong>ing in <strong>Applied</strong> <strong>Marine</strong> Conservation Ecology. The student has<br />

demonstrated in good knowledge <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong>ing of the subject area. He/she has<br />

demonstrated a good ability to research, test, discuss <strong>and</strong> present (oral <strong>and</strong> written)<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation in the subject<br />

D: Satisfactory underst<strong>and</strong>ing in <strong>Applied</strong> <strong>Marine</strong> Conservation Ecology. The student<br />

has demonstrated a fair knowledge <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong>ing of the subject area. He/she has<br />

demonstrated a fair ability to research, test, discuss <strong>and</strong> present (oral <strong>and</strong> written)<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation in the subject<br />

E: Sufficient underst<strong>and</strong>ing in <strong>Applied</strong> <strong>Marine</strong> Conservation Ecology. The student has<br />

demonstrated an acceptable knowledge <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong>ing of the subject area. He/she<br />

has demonstrated an acceptable ability to research, test, discuss <strong>and</strong> present (oral <strong>and</strong><br />

written) in<strong>for</strong>mation in the subject<br />

Fx: Insufficient underst<strong>and</strong>ing in <strong>Applied</strong> <strong>Marine</strong> Conservation Ecology. The student<br />

has demonstrated little knowledge <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong>ing of the subject area. He/she has<br />

not demonstrated an acceptable ability to research, test, discuss <strong>and</strong> present (oral <strong>and</strong><br />

written) in<strong>for</strong>mation in the subject<br />

F: Totally insufficient underst<strong>and</strong>ing in <strong>Applied</strong> <strong>Marine</strong> Conservation Ecology. The<br />

student has given a confused impression of knowledge <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong>ing of the<br />

subject area. He/she lack ability to research, test, discuss <strong>and</strong> present (oral <strong>and</strong><br />

written) in<strong>for</strong>mation in the subject<br />
