Crocus Inverse Multiplexer
Introduction to the Crocus Inverse Multiplexer
1.9 Management
The Crocus Inverse Multiplexer is manageable in many different ways:
• You can connect the Telindus Maintenance Application (TMA) to the Crocus Inverse Multiplexer both
over a serial connection (through the auxiliary connector) or over IP.
• Using any terminal emulation program, you can establish a serial connection with the Crocus Inverse
Multiplexer (through the auxiliary connector). Then you can choose between a windows-driven menu
for occasional users (ATWIN) and a command line user interface for experienced users (CLI).
• Alternatively, you can make a Telnet connection to the Crocus Inverse Multiplexer. Again you can
choose between ATWIN or CLI.
• You can manage it with TMA CLI, an advanced Command Line Interface with extra scripting
capabilities. Contact your distributor for more information on this product.
• You can manage it with TMA for HP OpenView, the Telindus integrated management application that
runs on the HP OpenView platform. Contact your distributor for more information on this product.
• You can manage the Crocus Inverse Multiplexer through SNMP. The Crocus Inverse Multiplexer
supports MIB2 and a private MIB, including traps. The private MIB comes with your copy of TMA. After
installation of the TMA data files, the private MIB file is available in directory C:\Program
Files\TMA\snmp with the name e3mux.mib. The first part of the directory path may be different if you
did not choose the default path during the installation of the TMA data files.
• Using the Orchid 1003 LAN management concentrator in combination with the Crocus Inverse
Multiplexer also offers extra management features (software distribution and consistency,
configuration distribution and consistency, etc.).
