high. But the results show that it is not the main reason discourages them to travel by<br />
<strong>West</strong> <strong>Rail</strong>. If <strong>West</strong> <strong>Rail</strong> is convenient for them, they will still choose <strong>West</strong> <strong>Rail</strong> even<br />
the fare is high. However, it is noted that many people who live far away from <strong>West</strong><br />
<strong>Rail</strong> stations are using <strong>West</strong> <strong>Rail</strong> one month pass. It means that even if <strong>West</strong> <strong>Rail</strong> is<br />
not convenient for them, they will still choose <strong>West</strong> <strong>Rail</strong> when the fare is attractive.<br />
From the result, it is suggested that <strong>West</strong> <strong>Rail</strong> can continue to issue one month pass as<br />
it is attractive for passengers, but they can increase the price by $50 to $350 for long<br />
term user and $400 for normal user as most of the people are still willing to buy one<br />
month pass at a price of $350. Also, one month pass seems not popular among young<br />
age group and students when compare with higher age group and work trip passengers.<br />
It may because they want to choose a cheaper mode of transportation. Also they may<br />
not be willing to buy $300 one month pass as they have more holiday like Lunar New<br />
Year and summer holiday. They may stop using it at that time. Later they are not able<br />
to buy $300 one month pass again and not willing to buy $400 one month pass. So it<br />
is suggested that KCR should provide a special discount of $350 one month pass in<br />
every month for students with no other restrictions so that students can have more<br />
flexibility. For the festival pass, we can note that there is significantly higher number<br />
