Career Fair 2009
Realising the need to expose today’s
youth to more varied career choices,
the Co-Op Education & Career
Services Unit organises annual career
fairs to ensure students understand
the options available to them when
they graduate.
34 companies participated in the
2009 event which was held on March
11 and 12 in the University’s Multi-
Purpose Hall. 700 students joined the
Fair, to attend on-the-spot interviews
conducted by the companies, and
participate in a series of career talks
by industry players. The online job
portal Jobstreet was also at the Fair to
conduct a résumé clinic and students
pointers on how to write résumés.
The 2009 Career Fair came at a time
where there was a lot of uncertainty
about graduate employment during
the turbulent economic climate
in 2009. Thus, this initiative gave
students some assurance about their
future employment choices by giving
them the chance to speak directly to
prospective employers.
