Keys will have you rolling on the floor from<br />

the beginning <strong>of</strong> his show to the end! He is back this<br />

year with a new show that is a high energy variety<br />

show packed with comedy, visual musical impressions<br />

and favorite Broadway songs, wrapped around<br />

some <strong>of</strong> the most exciting piano playing that you will<br />

ever witness! Because this entertainer is expensive, we<br />

want to make this evening affordable for everyone by<br />

Salt Cave<br />

Every breath <strong>of</strong> salty air you take,<br />

every precious microelement <strong>of</strong> salt<br />

you inhale in the salt cave is a bit<br />

<strong>of</strong> an irreplaceable, natural therapy<br />

beneficial for many health conditions.<br />

With the help <strong>of</strong> a salt generator device and tons <strong>of</strong><br />

Himalayan crystal salt, we are able to recreate the very<br />

special, healing microclimate <strong>of</strong> the ancient underground<br />

salt caves. Join <strong>Village</strong><strong>Walk</strong> and Verona<strong>Walk</strong> as we<br />

head to the Naples Salt Cave located at 4962 Tamiami<br />

Trail North, Naples, FL 34103 on Tuesday, January 8 at<br />

11:00 a.m. Please wear comfortable clothing. There are<br />

chairs, benches and mats to make this experience enjoyable.<br />

You may bring your own yoga mat to lay on if you<br />

wish. The session will last 45 minutes. $20 per person<br />

Community Pot Luck<br />

Get to meet your neighbors on<br />

Sunday, January 13 at our community<br />

birthday party pot luck<br />

dinner! Appetizers will be out in<br />

the Gazebo area starting at 4:30<br />

p.m. and then we’ll move into the<br />

ballroom for dinner and dessert.<br />

Tables in the ballroom will be designated<br />

by birthday month. If you<br />

are a married couple, please use<br />

the oldest one’s birthday month<br />

when registering. At time <strong>of</strong> reservation<br />

please let us know what you will be bringing:<br />

appetizer, side dish( salad, vegetable or starch) or main<br />

entrée (Beef, pork loin, chicken casserole or pasta). The<br />

committee will be providing turkey and ham to<br />

fill in. Please be prepared to be flexible on dishes<br />

to bring as we need to make sure we have plenty <strong>of</strong><br />

entrees to accommodate the participants. $5.00 per<br />

person to cover the cost <strong>of</strong> dessert, paper products,<br />

sternos, and non-alcoholic beverages. If you are bringing<br />

appetizers, please try to arrive a few minutes early<br />

so we can display them at the gazebo. All reservations<br />

must be in by Friday, January 11 for planning purposes.<br />

Blood Drive<br />

Every 3 seconds someone in America needs blood.<br />

Every 20 minutes someone’s loved one receives blood<br />

right here in our surrounding area. The greatest mistake<br />

we, as giving human beings, could make is to assume<br />

blood is always available for those in need. Join<br />

us on Saturday, January 26 from 8:00-11:00 a.m. for<br />

a community blood drive. The bus will be parked at<br />

the Bocce Courts. We need a minimum <strong>of</strong> 15 people<br />

to register for this event. Please sign up at the HOA<br />

at 6120 Idlewild Drive in Ft. Myers. This is a company/sample<br />

store, sizes are limited. Your shopping<br />

experience begins at 12:00 pm and runs to 2:00 pm.<br />

Please DO NOT arrive prior to 11:45 a.m. as guests<br />

will not be permitted through the gate before<br />

11:45 am. Each guest will need a photo ID to enter<br />

the gate. Policies: No children (under age 13) are<br />

permitted in the store, No pets are allowed in the store,<br />

dressing rooms available and no disrobing is allowed.<br />

We are limited to 25 guests for the day. All names<br />

will be turned in 72 hours before the event. No substitutions<br />

or cancellations after that point. Names must be<br />

Trivia nights are<br />

informal, fun, competitions<br />

where teams battle<br />

to see who has the greatest<br />

knowledge <strong>of</strong> matters<br />

trivial. Test your knowledge<br />

with categories including,<br />

but not limited to, sports,<br />

geography, entertainment,<br />

science, and literature. The winners are the team which,<br />

at the end <strong>of</strong> the night, have correctly answered the<br />

most number <strong>of</strong> questions. Get your friends and neighbors<br />

together for our first, 2013 Trivia Night here at the<br />

Town Center. Teams can have a minimum <strong>of</strong> 4 players<br />

with a maximum <strong>of</strong> 8 players. Please come with a team<br />

name in mind so we can begin on time! Don’t worry<br />

if you don’t have a team together, we can match you<br />

up! Price is $5 per person. Please bring an appetizer to<br />

share at half time! Non-alcoholic beverages and water<br />

will be provided.<br />

Pub Crawl (Wait List)<br />

You will not want to miss this fun <strong>Village</strong><strong>Walk</strong> Activity!<br />

Join in the festivities on Saturday, January 19 as<br />

we head to Fort Myers Beach. The Ku-Ku Ku-Nu-Ku,<br />

a famous authentic, “open air” San Francisco Motorized<br />

Cable Car, will pick us up at <strong>Village</strong><strong>Walk</strong> to start<br />

the evening <strong>of</strong>f right. Snacks and beverages are allowed<br />

on the trolley. The tunes will be jammin’ as we get on<br />

and <strong>of</strong>f the trolley all evening. The cost for the trolley is<br />

$20.00 per person based on a minimum <strong>of</strong> 30 residents.<br />

Please RSVP to the HOA Office by January 15. Don’t<br />

drink and drive, hop on the trolley and ride with us. The<br />

trolley will depart <strong>Village</strong><strong>Walk</strong> at 5:00 p.m. from the<br />

Town Center and return at 11:00 p.m.<br />

VIP Shopping at Glamour Puss in Naples<br />

It’s time for VIP treatment! Join us on Wednesday,<br />

January 30 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Glamour Puss in Naples<br />

for this special <strong>Village</strong><strong>Walk</strong> night. We will receive 20% <strong>of</strong>f<br />

our purchases that evening as well as have a free drawing.<br />

Enjoy light hors d’oeuvres while you shop until you drop!<br />

Florida in search<br />

<strong>of</strong> manatees!<br />

In addition you<br />

will see birds,<br />

dolphin and other species <strong>of</strong> wildlife. This is the time<br />

<strong>of</strong> year when the manatees arrive to keep warm in the<br />

water by the power plant and there are many to see!<br />

We will be Kayaking from Manatee Park in Fort Myers<br />

down the Orange River and back. There will be<br />

kayak instruction before we depart; so even if you have<br />

never kayaked before this trip is for you! Enjoy lunch<br />

in the park after the trip and a walk on the nature trails<br />

as well. Lunch is: choice <strong>of</strong> Turkey on wheat, ham on<br />

white or a veggie wrap. Lunch comes with chips, drink<br />

and dessert. $39.00 per person for this day <strong>of</strong> fun so<br />

the dogs...the Naples Fort Myers Greyhound Track<br />

that is! For only $17 per person you will receive:<br />

(3rd Floor Clubhouse), lunch choice <strong>of</strong>: cheeseburger,<br />

fried fish sandwich or grilled chicken sandwich<br />

Recycle Center Tour<br />

run about 40 minutes; please<br />

see the in’s and out’s <strong>of</strong> the<br />

recycle center. We need 20 residents as a minimum to<br />

by Thursday, January 17. The recycle center is located<br />

raise awareness<br />

<strong>of</strong> heart disease as the number one killer <strong>of</strong> women.<br />

Because women have been largely ignored as a specific<br />

group, their awareness <strong>of</strong> this <strong>of</strong>ten-preventable disease<br />

has suffered. Only 55 percent <strong>of</strong> women realize heart<br />

disease is their No. 1 killer and less than half know<br />

what are considered healthy levels for cardiovascular<br />

risk factors like blood pressure and cholesterol. Dr.<br />

Lacagnina will be able to speak on the signs, symptoms<br />

and things you can do to control heart disease. Limited<br />

to 50 people for this free luncheon and seminar. All<br />

reservations must be received by Tuesday, January 29<br />

Calling all you chocolate lovers! A sweet aroma<br />

<strong>of</strong> chocolate awaits you as walk into Olde Naples<br />

Chocolate located at 945 5th Avenue North Naples, FL.<br />

We will tour the facility on Wednesday, February 6 and<br />

learn all <strong>of</strong> the in’s and out’s <strong>of</strong> chocolate making. We<br />

will then be able to make 3 pieces each to take home!<br />

Minimum <strong>of</strong> 8 people to run this tour, maximum <strong>of</strong> 20.<br />

Valley, the Everglades National Park on Tuesday,<br />

7:00 a.m. (check in at 6:45 a.m.) After our hour and<br />

a half tram tour, we will visit the Oasis Visitor Center<br />

tour this sculpture garden made in stone, built by one<br />

man, Edward Leedskalnin. From 1923 to 1951, Ed<br />

<strong>of</strong> coral rock, and his unknown process has created<br />

one <strong>of</strong> the world’s most mysterious accomplishments.<br />

To this day, no one knows how Ed created the Coral<br />

Castle. Built under the cover <strong>of</strong> night and in secret,<br />

at a time when there were no modern construction<br />

conveniences, Ed would only say that he knew “the<br />

secret <strong>of</strong> the pyramids.” Features <strong>of</strong> the Coral Castle<br />

Museum include a 9-ton gate that moves with just a<br />

touch <strong>of</strong> the finger, a Polaris telescope and functioning<br />

rocking chairs – all made entirely <strong>of</strong> stone. The Coral<br />

Castle is an everlasting mystery to those who explore<br />

it. Following the Castle we stop for lunch at the Golden<br />

Coral in Florida City that features a salad bar with 50+<br />

items, multiple entrées, vegetables, starches and dessert<br />

(includes tax, gratuity and beverage). Then we are back<br />

on the bus for a docent led tour <strong>of</strong> RF Orchids owner,<br />

Robert Fuchs, Private Tropical Garden! RF Orchids<br />

CERT is a group <strong>of</strong> community volunteers trained by<br />

local fire departments that would be the first responders<br />

in their neighborhoods in an emergency such as a hurricane<br />

or tornado. Originally founded by the Los Angeles<br />

Fire Department as a concept in 1985, the CERT course<br />

will benefit any citizen who takes it. This individual<br />

will be better prepared to respond to and cope with the<br />

tracking purposes, payment is required with reservations<br />

for all activities. There will only be a 72-hour window for<br />

residents who are out <strong>of</strong> town. We thank you in advance<br />

for helping us make this smooth transition to improve our<br />

overall accounting records for the activities here at <strong>Village</strong>-<br />

<strong>Walk</strong>. For Special events including dinner dances, there<br />

will be a full refund for cancellations made up to 7 days<br />

prior to the event date. For day trips the minimum cancellation<br />

is 15 days prior to the trip date. For tickets purchased<br />

such as theatre, sporting events, and other special events as<br />

specified ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Cancellations after<br />

<strong>Village</strong><strong>Walk</strong> has given back $1,000’s <strong>of</strong> dollars,<br />

hundreds <strong>of</strong> pounds <strong>of</strong> food, truck loads <strong>of</strong> toys and<br />

This show is for mature audiences. The Producers will<br />

Ballroom Dance!<br />

Ballroom dance lessons are back this season with instructor<br />

Mel Logsdon for the month <strong>of</strong> January. Learn the Foxtrot,<br />

Waltz, Rumba, and East Coast Swing on Thursday nights<br />

at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Logsdon will be <strong>of</strong>fering a level 2 class on<br />

Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. as Class will be held on 1/10, 1/17, 1/24 and 1/31.<br />

Class is $30.00 per person or $50.00 per couple. Checks can be made payable<br />

to <strong>Village</strong><strong>Walk</strong>. Please RSVP to the HOA Office by Tuesday, January 8.<br />

February/<strong>March</strong> - Dance, International Ballroom Style: Whether<br />

beginner or advanced this class is where partners look and dance like they<br />

belong together on the dance floor. You will find your own dance style in<br />

Foxtrot, Rumba, Swing, Cha Cha, Waltz and Tango. Our teaching methods<br />

make it easy and fun with two pr<strong>of</strong>essional dance instructors. Join VIllage<strong>Walk</strong><br />

residents Joe & Kalie Kubica on Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m. for<br />

this class. Class runs February 7-<strong>March</strong> 14 for $60 per couple and <strong>March</strong><br />

LANDSCAPING REMINDERS<br />

If anyone has landscaping issues or concerns, please contact<br />

the HOA <strong>of</strong>fice at 949-9909 and report these to Tammy.<br />

Every Friday the HOA, Mainscape and Napier Sprinklers<br />

team together to inspect all concerns, diagnose the problems<br />

and find solutions. PLEASE REPORT YOUR CONCERNS<br />

TO THE OFFICE. Twice weekly, Mainscape canvases the<br />

community street by street to pick up palm fronds throughout<br />

the community. Fronds are also picked up daily, but only on<br />

the streets where they are working. In between times, if one<br />

falls in your yard, simply pull it to the curb for pick up.<br />

Annual Meeting Scheduled<br />

Mark your calendars: <strong>Village</strong><strong>Walk</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Bonita</strong> <strong>Springs</strong><br />

Annual Meeting will be held <strong>March</strong> 13, 2013 at 6 p.m. in<br />

the Town Center. All are welcome to attend, however only<br />

neighborhood representatives need to sign in for their street.<br />

Please plan to attend this important meeting. The HOA Office<br />

is looking for volunteers for the Annual Meeting, to help with<br />

the sign-in procedure. Please call the <strong>of</strong>fice if you will be able<br />

to help. Sign in begins at 5:30 p.m.<br />

Painted Yellow “No Parking” Curb<br />

The curb in front <strong>of</strong> Railhead Café is painted a bright<br />

yellow with “no parking” stenciled on the stripe. This<br />

IS a designated Fire Lane. Please be aware<br />

there is NO PARKING allowed at any area along<br />

the Café walkway, including the entrance! Vehicles<br />

and golf carts must use regular Town Center parking<br />

spaces. Please note the interior corners <strong>of</strong> the Café<br />

parking lot are also striped yellow and are no parking<br />

areas as well. Your cooperation and help in providing<br />

safety for all residents is appreciated.<br />

Remember: Holiday decorations<br />

must be removed by January 10th.<br />

<strong>Village</strong><strong>Walk</strong> Budget Review Meeting<br />

Wednesday February 6th 6:30 pm<br />

As the <strong>Village</strong><strong>Walk</strong> community is only 2 or 3 years away<br />

from handover to its residents, it is a good time to get an<br />

understanding <strong>of</strong> how the annual Homeowner’s Association<br />

budgeting process works. On Wednesday February 6 at 6:30<br />

pm, Kathyrn Halas, our Town Manager, will provide the <strong>Village</strong><strong>Walk</strong><br />

community with an overview <strong>of</strong> the 2013 budget and<br />

how the HOA fees are determined. The volunteer Finance<br />

Committee will be assisting her in the meeting. No need to<br />

register, but do plan on attending. C<strong>of</strong>fee will be available.<br />
