Welcome back to the Ohio Beef Expo and the Ohio Maine-Anjou Sale, the largest Maine-Anjou Event in the United States! What a great offering of cattle we’ve got in store
for you this year and the timing is just right as now is a great time to make improvements to your herd; markets have rarely been better. From our deep selection of herdmoving
sires to our strong offering of show and donor prospects, our 2011 OMAA Event is filled with our best cattle in years and I sincerely hope you will attend. This is an
important event in an important weekend for anyone in the cattle business.
The OMAA Sale and these breeders have stood the test of time as this event continues to offer up some of the best breeding pieces and best values in the industry. The results
of our past sales are well proven as many industry leaders and trendsetters have emerged from this event over its long history; see recent progeny from Hot Commodity
– a former OMAA top seller – for strong proof. This event continues to gain steam as it matures because so many of our dedicated consignors commit their best stock to it
every year. If you like good cattle, then we’ve got a special treat in store for you this year as we are especially blessed with the good ones for 2011.
Thanks to our 2011 consignor team for bringing out the goods. Each year it gets tougher to fit into the top of this event and that is a strong testament to the increasing
quality that our consignors continue to commit to this special event. I have every confidence that a weekend excursion to Columbus, Ohio will not be wasted by any breeder
looking to make some key additions to their program. From bulls to heifers, and Maine-Anjou to MaineTainer; this is a deep and well-bred offering that will do big things in
your pastures. I hope you can take the time to attend or, at the very least, consult with the breeders or sale staff ahead of the auction to learn more about the opportunities
that exist within this sale booklet. There is more than enough quality to go around.
The OMAA Sale is proud to be a big part of the Ohio Beef Expo, one of the largest and most exciting events in our industry. Aside from our auction, the Expo is an actionpacked
weekend complete with a large, diverse trade show, excellent educational seminars, important seed stock sales, and one of the best junior livestock shows you’ll ever
see. If you like beef cattle, you need to attend the Ohio Beef Expo.
Thank you to the devoted volunteers who make this event possible. Tony Dyer, Tom Wilcox, Joyce McKee, Gene Rowe, Randy Pohlman, and Terry Muir deserve your appreciation
for their continued efforts on our sale committee and, additionally Sam Sutherly, Elizabeth Harsh, and their respective assistants have done another excellent job coordinating
and managing all of the events that take place at the Expo. Our breed and our industry owe a lot to these and many others who donate their time to make this
event possible.
