sounds and rhythms are waiting to be downloaded free of charge. User sounds and user rhythms can additionally be edited in the computer

What may sound like a future vision is daily reality thanks to IDES. 

IDES is the abbreviation for Internet Data Expansion System. With 

this multifunctional PC program, uncountable new sounds, 

rhythms, effects and much more to be downloaded free of charge 

from the CASIO MUSIC SITE can be used together with the 

keyboard, and keyboard functions can be controlled in real time. 

Due to IDES, the keyboard can even be transformed into a 

sample player! Thus, CTK-900, WK-3200, and WK-3700 become 

real multifunctional boards, which can be configured specifically 

by every individual musician. The full range of data is to be found 

on the CASIO MUSIC SITE – the respective software is delivered 

with every CTK-900, WK-3200 and WK-3700 on a CD ROM. 

IDES offers these four applications 

Data Manager 

New sounds, rhythms, effects, registrations ... With the data 

manager a simple data transfer between a PC and the keyboard is 

achieved. Also different media such as diskette or Smart MediaTM- Card can be administrated intelligently via this application. 

Parameter Editor 

With the parameter editor, keyboard functions are controlled in 

real time. Regardless whether it is the organ drawbar, synthesizer 

editor or effect- and volume adjustments in the mixer. Via the PC 

screen there is a direct and fast access. 

Rhythm Converter 

Using the rhythm converter, midi files can easily be transformed 

into rhythms by dividing the SMF into certain bar sections. In this 

manner, favourite songs are converted into own patterns with an 

intro, variation and ending. 

Wave Converter 

The wave converter makes a sample player out of the IDES keyboard. 

Wave Files are transformed and can be played on the keyboard. 

Single sound, language or drum loop – thanks to 16 split 

zones, creativity is out of bound. 

Under http://music.casio.com an extensive data pool invites to 

dive into new musical worlds. Continuous updates provide for 

permanent topicality. Since the beginning of IDES in October 

2003, four new IDES download updates featuring a total of 100 

rhythms and 100 sounds have been installed. German Collection 

and European Pop Collection, Arabic Mood and the legendary CZ 

synthesizer sounds with the original sounds from early CASIO 

keyboards CZ-1, CZ-101 and CZ-1000.

offers the three-level extended lesson system by 

CASIO, enabling intense communication between 

the player and the instrument thanks to its interactive 

performance valuation. After the first and the 

second rehearsal stage, the system evaluates performance 

and gives the student useful judgements 

such as “bravo” or “try again“. With the Practise 

Phrase function the most difficult passages are 

identified and can then be rehearsed separately. 

The next evaluation after this “extra lesson“ will

At the beginning there was a vision. The vision of developing a 

key instrument, which instructs students on its own accord. 

Already back in 1981, CASIO developed a keyboard with a visual 

lesson system. This was the birth hour of lighting guide education. 

Today, two and a half decades later, we have perfected our 

lighting guide instruments. Interactive components and an innovative 

TV connection for rendering the valuations of the lesson 

system via a TV screen or the display, for instance, provide for 

continuous motivation and constant learning success. 

Beginners and returners will find things easy as pie with a lighting 

guide keyboard by CASIO: The three-level didactically tested 

structure of the visual learning system is the simple path to musical

Level 1: Rehearsal of time and tempo 

At the first level, the player follows the melody, which is indicated 

by the lighting keys. Even if the wrong key is pressed, the right

Level 2: Learning the right key succession 

Here the player must play the right key for the melody. Help comes 

from the display or the voice fingering guide. The accompaniment 

will wait until the right key is hit. 

Level 3: Playing at normal speed 

On level 3, the student is the solo player and must play freely 

together with the perfect accompaniment. He is supported by the 

lighting keys, which show the melody succession in original

sing-along or karaoke function. By activating the lighting Sing 

Along button, the volume of the melody is reduced to facilitate
