Our people
Our people have had to cope with
enormous change this year as we
demerged the managed business
and created new teams for the
purely leased and tenanted
business. To have accomplished
all of this and continue to improve
the performance of the business
is testament to their commitment
and calibre.
Top 25
Punch as a Group achieved 21st place in the Sunday Times Best
Big Companies to Work For 2011, the only major pub company
to be listed. This is a fantastic achievement and reflects our
commitment to develop our team and our Company culture to
make us a ‘Great Place to Work’. We were rated highly for open
and honest communication from managers, staff feeling they
could make a contribution to the success of the Company and
teams being fun to work with, as well as being nominated for
a special award for wellbeing.
Recognition
The success of our teams has been celebrated throughout the year
through our internal recognition programme, the PROUD Awards.
One hundred and twenty nine awards were handed out throughout
the leased business, along with Proud scratchcards with prizes
ranging from £25 food vouchers to £1,500 holiday vouchers.

This year also saw the launch of our flexible benefits package,
which allows team members to choose their own benefits
package from a range of options including pensions, childcare
vouchers and healthcare.
Our field teams were recognised for their success at the
Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers awards, with four
of our Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) nominated for
BRM of the Year.
Our pubs were also recognised at the Great British Pub Awards,
with ten highly commended entries and a further ten receiving
a regional winner award, and with even more pubs picking up
regional and industry awards on an individual basis.
More than 250 of our pubs appear in the CAMRA Good Beer
Guide, with almost 1,000 achieving Cask Marque accreditation,
which clearly demonstrates the importance of cask ale and beer
quality in the estate.
