Volunteering is an ‘inspiration’ for Bev
Gwirfoddoli yn ‘ysbrydoliaeth’ i Bev
After ten years working in the
NHS, Bev Hampson’s passion for
volunteering took her career in a
different direction.
During her time in NHS practice
management, Bev volunteered for a
Youth Offending Team – which led to a
position on the Youth Offending Panels
when they were piloted in Cardiff.
Bev then spent time at Newlink Wales
and Interlink RCT, before moving to
her current post as Volunteer Manager
at Breast Cancer Care Cymru in
2008. She has responsibility for the
implementation of the volunteering
strategy, recruitment, and selection and
training of volunteers. Bev is also the
representative for volunteering on the
Third Sector Partnership Council and is
on the committee of the South Wales
Volunteering Forum.
Bev said: ‘Seeing how organisations
big and small and their volunteers can
make such a difference to the lives
of individuals and communities is a
constant inspiration.’

swydd bresennol fel Rheolwr Gwirfoddoli
yn Gofal Canser y Fron Cymru yn 2008.

gwirfoddoli, a recriwtio, dethol a
hyfforddi gwirfoddolwyr. Bev hefyd yw’r
cynrychiolydd ar gyfer gwirfoddoli ar
Gyngor Partneriaeth y Trydydd Sector ac
mae ar bwyllgor Fforwm Gwirfoddoli De
Cymru.

ADVOCACY OFFICER
Salary: £18,453 (Sc. 4.20) pro rata 22 hours p.w.
We are looking for an experienced family advocate who will be responsible for the delivery and development
of advocacy for Diverse Cymru under the Families First programme in Cardiff, and would want to build on
established knowledge of disabled children and young people’s rights.
An important part of the role will include taking responsibility for efficient monitoring using the RBA method of
measuring outcomes.
Excellent interpersonal skills are crucial, and applicants should possess a good understanding of advocacy
practices and principles.
DIRECT PAYMENTS SUPPORT WORKER
Salary: £18,453 (Sc. 4.20) pro rata, 30 hours p.w
We are seeking an effective Support Worker with knowledge of Direct Payments, and of working with families of
disabled children and young people in the voluntary and/or public sector.

consultancy services, with a specific focus on delivering training. A qualified Mental Health First Aid trainer
would be desirable, but not essential as training will be provided to a suitably experienced person.

Providing general information, through ward and home visits, on how
to reduce household costs and maximise income including advising
on budgeting and completing benefi t and charitable application
forms. Although hospital based the role will involve extensive travel
throughout Cardiff & the Vale of Glamorgan.
