8.5.4 Shutdown Procedure<br />
1. Recover diver to bell <strong>and</strong> carry out post dive check off list.<br />
2. Switch off gas booster.<br />
3. Shut off O 2 <strong>and</strong> HeO 2 make up gas on control console.<br />
4. Turn off control console power.<br />
5. Shut off cooling water supplies to Booster <strong>and</strong> Reprocessing Unit.<br />
8.5.5 To change Soda lime<br />
1. Close inlet to canister.<br />
2. Close outlet from canister.<br />
3. Open drain valve at base.<br />
4. Unscrew top cap by h<strong>and</strong> when canister is fully vented.<br />
5. Place cap in box provided.<br />
6. Remove canister using h<strong>and</strong>le.<br />
7. Remove h<strong>and</strong>le <strong>and</strong> top gauze, <strong>and</strong> empty contents.<br />
8. Set empty canister in filling st<strong>and</strong>.<br />
9. Fill half full with soda lime.<br />
10. Add only one cupful of Purafil at 2/3 full.<br />
11. Fill to two thirds full with soda lime.<br />
12. Add one cupful of Purafil.<br />
13. Fill to top with Soda lime.<br />
14. Replace h<strong>and</strong>le <strong>and</strong> top lid.<br />
15. Lower inner canister slowly into outer canister.<br />
16. Replace top cap. It is O-ring sealed <strong>and</strong> seals when finger tight.<br />
17. Close drain valve at base.<br />
18. Open INLET valve on the LEFT SLOWLY.<br />
19. Open OUTLET valve on the RIGHT SLOWLY.<br />
20. Write hour meter reading of canister change on the control console in diver<br />
control.<br />
8.5.6 Changing Depth<br />
The make-up panel is provided to allow the oxygen content of the breathing gas to be<br />
altered rapidly to a new diving depth. To increase the oxygen content in the system,<br />
the following procedure should be followed.<br />
