8.1 Introduction<br />
The purpose of this section of the manual is to describe in detail the procedures<br />
necessary to install a new GASMIZER system <strong>and</strong> to describe the detailed set-up <strong>and</strong><br />
operating procedure.<br />
8.2 System Installation<br />
8.2.1 Prior to Installation<br />
A preliminary survey should be carried out prior to despatch of a system to answer the<br />
following questions:<br />
1. Are the necessary services available<br />
Control Console, Power 220/240 Vac 50/60 Hz<br />
Reprocessing Unit, freshwater cooling, 3 gal/min (13 ltr/min) @ 45 o F (7 o C max.)<br />
Electric Gas Booster, power 440V, 3ph, 60 Hz, (30 Kw), seawater cooling 16 gal/min<br />
(70 ltr/min @ 80 o F (30 o C)<br />
2. Does the bell umbilical have a suitable exhaust hose – Refer to Table 8.2.4 for<br />
then exhaust hose diameter as a function of diving depth. Note that the exhaust hose<br />
must be suitable for at least 5 bar external pressure. Exhaust hoses are frequently<br />
