off gassing from the umbilical.
5.3.4 Purafil is effective in removing:
Mercaptans, amines and ketones (responsible for many common odours);
Ammonia;
Hydrogen sulphide;
Sulphur dioxide;
Carbon monoxide (trace quantities only);
5.3.5 This degree of scrubbing has been found satisfactory in normal diving applications. For
other applications, particularly the recovery of the welder diver gas, consult Divex for
recommended scrubbing systems.
5.4 Reprocessing Unit – Routine Maintenance
Maintenance Schedule
NOTE
All routine maintenance is based on actual running time as indicated on the hour meter in the
control console.
Every 4 Hours
Next Due________Hrs.
DRAIN ALL REPROCESSING UNIT FILTERS. F2 SHOULD CONTAIN LESS THAN A
TABLESPOON OF WATER. F1 and F3 should contain about a cup of condensate.
Every 8 Hours
Next Due________Hrs.
CHANGE CO 2 SCRUBBER after 8 man hours of use i.e. one diver one scrubber 8 hours or
two divers two scrubbers 8 hours.
CAUTION: CO 2 levels should be continuously monitored.
Every 40 Hours
Next Due________Hrs.
CHECK ALL PROCESSING UNIT DRAIN VALVES, Filters F1 – F2 F3, Receivers R1-R2,
Scrubbers S1-S2 and Float valve.
Every 500 Hours
Next Due________Hrs.
REPLACE CO 2 SCRUBBER FILTER PADS on top and bottom of scrubber canisters.
