Servicing<br />
Disassembly:<br />
1. Remove end cover screws, end cover <strong>and</strong> gasket.<br />
2. Remove impeller using water pump pliers or lever out with two pieces of rod with<br />
rounded ends.<br />
3. Loosen cam screw, remove cam, clean off any jointing compound using a suitable<br />
solvent.<br />
4. Remove wear plate.<br />
5. Remove seal retaining ring on shaft.<br />
6. Remove pump body holding bolt <strong>and</strong> remove pump body from bearing housing.<br />
7. Remove seal assembly.<br />
8. Slide slinger off shaft.<br />
9. Insert screwdriver blade between O.D. of outer bearing seal <strong>and</strong> pump bore <strong>and</strong><br />
pry out the seal taking care not to damage the pump bore.<br />
10. Remove bearing to body retaining ring.<br />
11. Press on impeller drive end of shaft to remove shaft <strong>and</strong> bearing assembly.<br />
12. Support bearing inner race <strong>and</strong> press shaft through bearing, repeat procedure for<br />
other bearing.<br />
Assembly:<br />
1. Lubricate inner bearing seal with a suitable grease <strong>and</strong> press into bearing housing<br />
with spring facing towards impeller.<br />
2. Support inner race of bearing <strong>and</strong> press shaft through bearing until located<br />
against shoulder on shaft. Repeat operation for other bearing.<br />
3. Locate slinger in drain area.<br />
4. Press shaft <strong>and</strong> bearing assembly into bearing housing, guide slinger onto shaft<br />
until located in housing.<br />
5. Fit bearing to body retaining ring.<br />
6. Press in bearing seal with spring facing outwards (away from impeller).<br />
7. Replace pump body. Secure to housing with bolt, washer <strong>and</strong> nut.<br />
8. Replace seal seat <strong>and</strong> cup rubber. Seal seat facing towards impeller.<br />
9. Replace seal with carbon fibre face towards face of seal seat.<br />
10. Replace seal retaining ring onto shaft.<br />
11. Install wear plate, lining up slot with pin in body.<br />
12. Coat top <strong>and</strong> back of cam <strong>and</strong> cam screw with a non-setting jointing compound.<br />
Install in body.<br />
13. Lubricate impeller with a light coat of MARFAK 2 HD grease or equivalent <strong>and</strong><br />
start introducing the impeller into the bore with a rotary motion until the splines engage.<br />
Then push fully into bore.<br />
14. Replace gasket <strong>and</strong> end cover. Retain with end cover screws.<br />
