• SECURE: <strong>The</strong> Strategic Communications Resources Effort<br />
(SECURE) to provide security clearances, and secure video and<br />
telephone communications to all the states and territories.<br />
• Project SAFECOM: <strong>The</strong> umbrella program within the Federal<br />
government to coordinate the efforts <strong>of</strong> local, tribal, State and Federal<br />
Public Safety agencies working to improve Public Safety response<br />
through more effective, efficient, interoperable wireless<br />
communications.<br />
• U.S. VISIT: United States Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator<br />
Technology (U.S. VISIT) program is the <strong>Department</strong>’s automated<br />
entry/exit system, which will expedite legitimate travelers, while<br />
making it more difficult for those intending to do us harm to enter our<br />
nation. Its full capabilities will now be installed the “secondary”<br />
areas <strong>of</strong> the 50 busiest land ports <strong>of</strong> entry by December 2004<br />
