we understand the pathogenesis, to prevent this<br />

,pulmonary, it is important that vigorous<br />
chemotherapy be instituted for all secondary<br />
infections, especially in patients with residual lesions.<br />
In other words, patients <strong>of</strong> healed tuberculosis have to<br />
be followed up for the rest <strong>of</strong> their lives and educated<br />
about the desirability <strong>of</strong> treating these infections. To<br />
prevent Cor pulmonale developing, it is important that<br />
the treatment <strong>of</strong> Chronic pulmonary tuberculosis<br />
should be regarded as incomplete if a clear X-ray<br />
picture does not result. It is imperative that all<br />
removable residual. lesions, whether solid looking or<br />
cavitary, are eliminated by surgery.<br />
