Dear Traveller
I briefly visited Japan a few years ago but
even that short introduction was enough to
captivate me and I vowed to return.
I recently did go back to try out the skiing
at Niseko and Furano on the northern
island of Hokkaido, as well exploring
Japan’s wonderful former capital, Kyoto, its
incredible temples and gardens countering the
neon and frenetic pace of Tokyo. I developed
a taste for Japanese food, whether a quick
bite from a simple stall or a banquet in an
upmarket restaurant, the tastes, smells and
presentation were often challenging but
always impressive. I also stayed in a
traditional inn or ryokan which I would
recommend all visitors to try, if only for a
night. All these experiences reaffirmed for
me what a fascinating and beguiling nation
this is and why so many travellers are
charmed by it.
Whether you are planning to visit Japan
for the first time and want to see the classic
sights, or are returning to delve deeper, our
specialists know Japan inside and out and
will ensure you experience the very best of
the country. They can recommend the best
place to try out hot spring bathing, the finest
traditional inns or where to experience one
of the famous festivals that take place
throughout the year.
I hope this brochure inspires your travels.
Please feel free to call our Japan specialists
