MISSION
The BA program in Psychology provides students
with a broad based knowledge in the field of
Psychology along with opportunities to explore their
professional potential in a university committed
to academic excellence, scholarship, and to the
education of students as future leaders in the local
and international sphere. Students will be provided
with a foundational grounding in scientific psychology
in diverse subfields, with some emphasis in the fields
of Development and Counseling.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
The general objectives of the program are in line
with the American Psychological Association’s
guidelines for undergraduate psychology Majors.
Students in the program are expected to:
1. Acquire a knowledge base in Psychology
2. Equip students with data research analysis
skills.
3. Develop skills in critical and creative
thinking, skeptical inquiry, all of which
require tolerance for ambiguity.
4. Apply psychological principles across
cultural and sub-cultural contexts.
5. Weigh evidence, suspend judgment, act
ethically, and reflect upon and evaluate the
values underlying psychology.
6. Demonstrate competence in using
computers and information technology for
psychology purposes.
