Department of Humanities<br />

LEARNING OUTCOMES<br />

Graduates in the Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy will:<br />

1. Become critical thinkers with a strong<br />

moral awareness.<br />

2. Acquire broad knowledge of ancient and<br />

contemporary texts.<br />

3. Acquire the dispositions and skills required<br />

of an active and responsible citizenry.<br />

4. Acquire adaptive abilities particularly<br />

suited to a rapidly changing job market.<br />

5. Acquire broad insight into the human<br />

condition.<br />

CURRICULUM REQUIREMENTS<br />

The B.A. in Philosophy requires 92 credits, of<br />

which 34 are University Course Requirements, 42<br />

are Philosophy courses and 16 are free electives.<br />

The Philosophy course requirement consists of 7<br />

areas of course work, distributed as follows:<br />

1. Logic Requirement (6 Credits):<br />

PHL 211 Symbolic Logic<br />

2. History of Philosophy Requirement<br />

(12 Credits):<br />
