Ideal for measuring consumption in private homes<br />

Just one single screw tightened on each<br />

terminal is all it takes to install <strong>Kamstrup</strong><br />

<strong>162</strong>. The discreet design and compact size<br />

means that the meter can be installed even<br />

in an entrance hall. Accumulated electric<br />

energy is easily read on the display - also<br />

for weak-sighted people - thanks to the<br />

clear digits. <strong>Kamstrup</strong> <strong>162</strong> measures the<br />

power consumption via shunt. This is one<br />

of the most essential reasons for the<br />

meter's good measuring characteristics.<br />

The meter's construction provides good<br />

accuracy and a very low internal consumption<br />

- costs of <strong>gr</strong>eat importance to the<br />

utility.<br />

The meter is furnished with elevating<br />

terminals and the lower part of the terminal<br />

wraps around the cable. This terminal type,<br />

which is also used e.g. in a circuit breaker,<br />

provides a large and solid contact area.<br />

Energy conscious consumers<br />

Various functions makes the individual<br />

household more conscious about its<br />

power consumption.<br />

The kWh control registers the consumption<br />

over a period of time to enable the consumers<br />

to check how much they have saved<br />

by using low-energy bulbs.<br />

It is also possible to register the power<br />

consumption of one single appliance and<br />

thereby also how much power the TV uses<br />

in stand-by mode.<br />

If the consumer doubts a bill, the log function<br />

is a useful tool to clear up the consumption<br />

pattern and explain deviations.<br />

The log registers monthly values for up to<br />

36 months. If the current fails, the meter<br />

back-up stores the consumption data until<br />

the current is re-established.<br />

Caring for the environment<br />

After faithful service <strong>Kamstrup</strong> <strong>162</strong> can be<br />

disposed of in an inexpensive way, as it is<br />

easy to separate and most parts can be<br />

recycled.<br />

Automatic meter reading – Ellipse.net<br />

To meet the demands on frequent readings it is necessary to automatize the reading<br />

process. All <strong>Kamstrup</strong> meters offers space for a communication module. The module can<br />

be fitted at the factory, or it can be retrofitted to up<strong>gr</strong>ade existing meters – without<br />

reverification.<br />

Which reading system you need depends on the geo<strong>gr</strong>aphy, the area, building density etc.<br />
