The folded-patch 1 antenna is too big to fit inside a mobile terminal. After a lot of
failed attempts to make it smaller and still have a minimum return loss of six dB a
smaller similar antenna was designed (see figure 4.9). The return loss graph is
presented in figure 4.10. However the antenna is still big and it cannot be placed
above a ground plane, because it is a ground free antenna. A possible solution for
this problem in practice is to have a construction that slides out from the ground
plane when the antenna should be used. Another solution to this problem could be
to place the antenna in a support for the terminal that is folded out so the terminal
can stand on a table.
