1. Application Form for International Scholars with a
photograph fixed, which is available at www.oir.pku.edu.cn
2. Certification of highest degree attained, and official certificate
of employment (original documents or certified copies in
Chinese or English)
3. Two letters from your referees. At least one of your referees
should have knowledge of your recent academic work and
should indicate the standard attained wherever possible.

4. Research proposal (no less than 1000 words, in Chinese or
English)
5. One photocopy of your valid passport (passport type must be
ordinary)

3,320 RMB/Month
\Medical Insurance\
Peking University’s regulations require that all international
students must be medically insured throughout their entire
planned period of study. How to subscribe the medical insurance,
please refer to the Letter of Admission. Students who do not have
valid medical insurance are not allowed to register.

\Application fee\
400RMB in cash or Yinlian bank card. Foreign currency or check is
not acceptable. This fee is not refundable.
Note: Applications with incomplete materials or without the application
fee will not be considered.
\Accommodation information\
There are different types of housing facilities for international
students at PKU.

\Admission\
Admission will be determined by your proposed colleges or
departments according to your academic achievements. Normally it
takes 4 to 8 weeks to get the Letter of Admission after the application
submitted. Most successful candidates have established prior contacts
with the professors in their particular fields, anyone wishing to come
for a Research Scholars is strongly advised to find a supervisor in
advance.
Self-funded Students are required to find their own living
accommodation. Please note that students who live off campus
must register to the local police station within 24 hours.
\Visa information\
Students admitted to PKU may apply for your visa at the Chinese
Embassy/Consulate in your country with your letter of admission
and JW202 form. International students who will study in China
for over 6 months are required to obtain ‘X’ Visa, which will only
be valid for 30 days after your arrival in China. You must come
to the International Students Division and apply for a Residence
Permit within these 30 days in order to obtain a legal status in
China. Study period within 6 months can apply for F visa.
