\Application Process\<br />
1. On-Line registration.<br />
1.1. Please register your details on http://isao.pku.edu.cn/ooirr .<br />
Please fill in the application form and submit and also print a<br />
hardcopy for reference.<br />
2. Submit Application Materials.<br />
2.1. After completing the Peking University Application Form<br />
for International Students on-line please print and attach a<br />
passport-style photograph.<br />
2.2. Certification of highest degree attained, and official<br />
academic transcripts (original documents or Certified copies in<br />
Chinese or English).<br />
2.3. Two letters of reference from your referees. The referees<br />
should be professors or persons with relevant academic title.<br />
The recommendation letter must be the original document,<br />
either in Chinese or English, and not a copy, scan or email.<br />
2.4. Certificate of Chinese proficiency level e.g. HSK (If<br />
applicable).<br />
2.5. One photocopy of your current, valid passport (personal<br />
details page) (passport type must be ordinary).<br />
Note: Your applications documents will not be returned.<br />
\When to apply\<br />
March 7th -31st, 2011<br />
General Visiting Student Program<br />
\Application fee\<br />
400RMB,you can pay in cash or Yinlian bank card, or pay online<br />
http://isao.pku.edu.cn/ooirr. Foreign currency or check is not<br />
acceptable. This fee is non-refundable.<br />
Note: Applications with incomplete materials or without the application<br />
fee will not be considered.<br />
\Admission\<br />
Admission will be determined according to your educational<br />
background and the academic achievement. Upon acceptance, the<br />
University will send you the 'Letter of Admission' as well as the 'Visa<br />
application form for Foreigners (Form JW202)' by the end of June<br />
2011.<br />
\Registration period\<br />
September 2011 (specified in the Letter of Admission)<br />
\Tuition fee\ (per year per person)<br />
Science Subjects: 30,000RMB Humanities: 26,000RMB<br />
\Medical insurance\<br />
Peking University’s regulations require that all international<br />
students must be medically insured throughout their entire<br />
planned period of study. Students are required to purchase the<br />
Comprehensive Insurance Plan of Foreign Students provided by<br />
Ping An insurance company on the day of registration, which has<br />
been recognized and recommended by the Chinese Ministry of<br />
Education. Students who do not have valid medical insurance are<br />
not allowed to register.<br />
\Accommodation information\<br />
There are different types of housing facilities for international<br />
students at PKU.<br />

For further information regarding the new accommodation for<br />
foreign students at Peking University, you are welcome to visit<br />
the following website: http://www.pkugv.com, or for specific advice<br />

Self-funded Students are required to find their own living<br />
accommodation. Please note that students who live off campus<br />
must register to the local police station within 24 hours.<br />
\Visa information\<br />
Students admitted to PKU may apply for your visa at the Chinese<br />
Embassy/Consulate in your country with your letter of admission<br />
and JW202 form. International students who will study in China<br />
for over 6 months are required to obtain ‘X’ Visa, which will only<br />
be valid for 30 days after your arrival in China. You must come<br />
to the International Students Division and apply for a Residence<br />
Permit within these 30 days in order to obtain a legal status in<br />
China. Study period within 6 months can apply for F visa.<br />
