health or any other form of nonfiction book, this
class will streamline your efforts and even show you
how to sell it before you write it. Learn to plan,
research, outline, organize, query and write the nonfiction
book proposal that makes editors want to buy.
This workshop includes strategies for breaking your
book down into “bite-sized” pieces while researching
and creating the elements needed for proposals. Eileen
Stanton has written dozens of articles and a self-help
book. Her work in radio, television, advertising and
media all provide a broad base of experience for this
informative course.

Why do agents and editors stop reading manuscripts
by the third page Why don’t they ask to see more
after reading the first chapter The secrets are out and
in this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn many ways to
start with a bang and keep the chapter moving. Bring
the first five pages and be prepared to improve on the
good writing, inject suspense or humor, and delete
what’s slowing down the scenes. Editors and agents
have been sharing their opinions for years and this
class will reveal their likes and dislikes. Eileen Stanton
has won awards after writing only first chapters and a
synopsis.

write in order to gain a greater understanding of
