Fat Tree Topology<br />

When the RoutingAlgorithm is set to fattree, the FatTreeTopology section<br />

is used to configure fat tree parameters. To properly handle routing decisions, the<br />

SM needs to understand some fabric topology information. Specifically, how many<br />

tiers are in the fat tree and which tier a switch belongs to. If all Channel Adapters<br />

are on the same tier, the SM can easily determine the fat tree topology and tier a<br />

given switch resides in. If they are not, an attempt will be made to find the core<br />

switches based on the node description. This works well if the core switches are<br />

<strong>QLogic</strong> IB 12000 series switches.<br />
