3–<strong>Fabric</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> Configuration<br />

Configuring the <strong>QLogic</strong> <strong>Fabric</strong> <strong>Manager</strong><br />

The xml parser will quietly ignore any unrecognized parameter or section. This<br />

capability allows for forward and backward compatibility of the configuration files.<br />

It will be possible to use newer configuration files (which may have additional<br />

parameters) on an older version of the <strong>QLogic</strong> <strong>Fabric</strong> <strong>Manager</strong>. This has the<br />

negative risk that a mistyped parameter may be silently ignored and defaulted. To<br />

help avoid such mistakes it is recommended to start with the sample configuration<br />

file and edit or cut and paste parameters as needed. Also the config_check tool<br />

can be run in strict mode (-s option) to report any unrecognized tags.<br />

The default <strong>QLogic</strong> <strong>Fabric</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> configuration file provided shows all of the<br />

tags and provides detailed comments as to their meaning.<br />
