10. ALTERNATOR CHECK<br />
Check the ammeters for normal indications.<br />
CAUTION<br />
Do not turn the alternator off to check ammeter loads.<br />
11. ENGINE INSTRUMENTS/ANNUNCIATORS CHECK<br />
CHECK the following ENGINE INSTRUMENTS:<br />
- Ammeters and Vacuum Gauge: Check that the ammeter is<br />
indicating a load (at least for normal battery charging). Verify that the<br />
suction gauge is indicating between 4.8” to 5.1” Hg to ensure that<br />
adequate vaccum is being provided.<br />
- Oil Pressure and Oil Temperature Gauges: Verify that the oil<br />
pressure gauge is indicating between 60-90 psi and the oil<br />
temperature gauge is indicating between 75°-245° F.<br />
- Fuel Flow/Pressure and Fuel Quantity Guages: Verify that the fuel<br />
flow/pressure gauge is indicating between 2 – 21.4 GPH/.05 – 12 psi.<br />
Check the fuel quantity guages for proper indications.<br />
Check that all ANNUNCIATOR lights are extinguished.<br />
12. ALTERNATE AIR SELECTOR OPEN/CHECK<br />
Move the ALTERNATE AIR SELECTOR to the OPEN position to CHECK<br />
that the engine continues to operate.<br />
13. THROTTLE CLOSE<br />
With the Alternate Air Selector in the Open position, smoothly reduce the<br />
THROTTLE to the CLOSE position and check engine operation. The<br />
engine should operate smoothly at 500-600 RPM.<br />
14. ALTERNATE AIR SELECTOR CLOSE<br />
Move the ALTERNATE AIR SELECTOR to the CLOSE position and check<br />
engine operation.<br />
15. THROTTLE 1000 RPM<br />
Smoothly move the THROTTLE forward to set 1000 RPM.<br />
