NOTE
Each fuel tank is equipped with a filler neck indicator tab to aid
in determining fuel remaining when the tank is not full. Usable
capacity when the fuel level is at the bottom of the tab is 25
gallons.
CALL FOR SERVICE IF REQUIRED
If insufficient fuel or oil is noted, contact ERAU Flight Data (Eagle
Data) on 122.825 MHz to request aircraft servicing (Fuel Truck).
16. DOCUMENTS CHECK
CHECK that the Airworthiness Certificate and Aircraft Registration are on
board the airplane. Verify the Registration has not expired. Verify that the
DOCUMENTS have the correct registration number (“N” number) for the
airplane. Ensure that the Airworthiness Certificate is clearly visible.
17. POH AVAILABLE
Ensure that the POH (Pilot Operating Handbook) for that airplane is
AVAILABLE, including the weight and balance documentation (per 14 CFR
Part 91.9).
18. SEATBELT (as a control lock) REMOVE
REMOVE the pilot side SEAT BELT from the control yoke to allow for
freedom of movement of the flight controls.
19. PARKING BRAKE SET
SET the PARKING BRAKE by pulling the Parking Brake Lever aft, and then
pushing the button. Do not depress the brake pedals while trying to
engage the parking brake, as this will prevent the parking brake from
working.
CAUTION
If the parking brake is not engaged, the airplane may roll on the
ramp when tie-downs and chocks are removed.
20. FLIGHT CONTROLS FREE/CORRECT
Move the FLIGHT CONTROLS to their maximum travel in all directions
(“Box Pattern”) to verify they are FREE/CORRECT and not restricted in
