26 PA-28R-201 SOP<br />
1. GUST LOCKS (if equipped) REMOVE<br />
If equipped, REMOVE the GUST LOCKS from all flight control surfaces.<br />
Stow and secure the gust locks in the baggage compartment.<br />
CAUTION<br />
The ailerons or rudder will be damaged if moved with the gust<br />
locks installed.<br />
2. GEAR SELECTOR DOWN<br />
Verify that the GEAR SELECTOR is in the DOWN position to ensure that<br />
the landing gear will not attempt to retract when the battery master switch is<br />
turned ON.<br />
3. FIN STROBE (if installed) ON<br />
If installed, depress the FIN STROBE switch to the ON position. Leave all<br />
other exterior lights off.<br />
4. BATTERY MASTER SWITCH ON<br />
Depress the BATTERY MASTER SWITCH to the ON position to provide<br />
power to the main electrical bus and the tie bus. Listen for the turn<br />
coordinator gyro “spooling up” and confirm that the red warning flag on the<br />
instrument face is no longer visible (indicating proper operation).<br />
5. LANDING GEAR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED (3 GREEN)<br />
Verify that the three (3) green LANDING GEAR LIGHTS are<br />
ILLUMINATED.<br />
6. GEAR ALERT TEST SWITCH PUSH/TEST<br />
Momentarily push the GEAR ALERT TEST SWITCH located beneath the<br />
Landing Gear Selector. The “test okay” aural callout should be heard. If the<br />
“test okay” aural callout is not heard, notify Fleet Maintenance.<br />
7. FUEL GAUGES CHECK<br />
CHECK that both FUEL GAUGES are indicating properly and that the<br />
required amount of fuel for the flight is indicated (refer to the <strong>ERAU</strong> Flight<br />
Operations Manual for fuel requirements). If insufficient fuel is on board,<br />
contact <strong>ERAU</strong> Flight Data (Eagle Data) on 122.825 MHz to request aircraft<br />
servicing (Fuel Truck).<br />
