ELECTRICAL FAILURE CHECKLIST
ALT annunciator light illuminates.
1. AMMETER .................................................................. CHECK/VERIFY
2. ELECTRICAL LOAD ............................................................... REDUCE
3. ALTERNATOR SWITCH ................................................................ OFF
4. ALTERNATOR CIRCUIT BREAKER .......................... CHECK (RESET)
5. ALTERNATOR SWITCH (after 1 second) ......................................... ON
If power is not restored:
6. ALTERNATOR SWITCH ................................................................ OFF
7. ELECTRICAL LOAD ............................................................... REDUCE
8. AIRPORT ..................................................................................... LAND
9. ELECTRICAL FAILURE CHECKLIST ................................. COMPLETE
1. AMMETER CHECK/VERIFY
CHECK the AMMETER to VERIFY that the alternator has failed (zero
reading).
NOTE
Verify a failed alternator by turning on an electrically-powered
device (such as a landing light). If no increase in ammeter
reading is noted, assume the alternator has failed.
2. ELECTRICAL LOAD REDUCE
REDUCE the ELECTRICAL LOAD by turning off non-essential electricallypowered
devices.
3. ALTERNATOR SWITCH OFF
Depress the ALTERNATOR SWITCH to the OFF position.
4. ALTERNATOR CIRCUIT BREAKER CHECK (RESET)
CHECK that the CIRCUIT BREAKER for the alternator is IN. If not, RESET
the circuit breaker to the IN position.
5. ALTERNATOR SWITCH (after 1 second) ON
Depress the ALTERNATOR SWITCH to the OFF position.
If power is not restored:
6. ALTERNATOR SWITCH OFF
Depress the ALTERNATOR SWITCH to the OFF position.
