ELECTRICAL FAILURE CHECKLIST<br />

ALT annunciator light illuminates.<br />

1. AMMETER .................................................................. CHECK/VERIFY<br />

2. ELECTRICAL LOAD ............................................................... REDUCE<br />

3. ALTERNATOR SWITCH ................................................................ OFF<br />

4. ALTERNATOR CIRCUIT BREAKER .......................... CHECK (RESET)<br />

5. ALTERNATOR SWITCH (after 1 second) ......................................... ON<br />

If power is not restored:<br />

6. ALTERNATOR SWITCH ................................................................ OFF<br />

7. ELECTRICAL LOAD ............................................................... REDUCE<br />

8. AIRPORT ..................................................................................... LAND<br />

9. ELECTRICAL FAILURE CHECKLIST ................................. COMPLETE<br />

1. AMMETER CHECK/VERIFY<br />

CHECK the AMMETER to VERIFY that the alternator has failed (zero<br />

reading).<br />

NOTE<br />

Verify a failed alternator by turning on an electrically-powered<br />

device (such as a landing light). If no increase in ammeter<br />

reading is noted, assume the alternator has failed.<br />

2. ELECTRICAL LOAD REDUCE<br />

REDUCE the ELECTRICAL LOAD by turning off non-essential electricallypowered<br />

devices.<br />

3. ALTERNATOR SWITCH OFF<br />

Depress the ALTERNATOR SWITCH to the OFF position.<br />

4. ALTERNATOR CIRCUIT BREAKER CHECK (RESET)<br />

CHECK that the CIRCUIT BREAKER for the alternator is IN. If not, RESET<br />

the circuit breaker to the IN position.<br />

5. ALTERNATOR SWITCH (after 1 second) ON<br />

Depress the ALTERNATOR SWITCH to the OFF position.<br />

If power is not restored:<br />

6. ALTERNATOR SWITCH OFF<br />

Depress the ALTERNATOR SWITCH to the OFF position.<br />
