PA-28R-201 SOP 109<br />
19. GEAR SELECTOR DOWN/ 3 GREEN<br />
Verify that the GEAR SELECTOR is in the DOWN position. Visually check<br />
to confirm that the 3 GREEN indicator lights are illuminated. Call out,<br />
“Three Green, No Red, Verify.” Wait for the IP to respond, “Gear Down,<br />
Verified.”<br />
20. FLAPS 40° Recommended<br />
When appropriate, place the Flap Selector switch in the 40º position to set<br />
the FLAPS for approach and landing, allowing touchdown at the slowest<br />
possible airspeed.<br />
21. MIXTURE CONTROL IDLE CUT-OFF<br />
Place the MIXTURE CONTROL to the IDLE CUT-OFF position.<br />
22. THROTTLE CLOSE<br />
Move the THROTTLE to the CLOSE position.<br />
23. FUEL SELECTOR OFF<br />
Place the FUEL SELECTOR in the OFF position.<br />
24. IGNITION SWITCH OFF<br />
Turn the IGNITION SWITCH key to the OFF position.<br />
25. BATTERY MASTER SWITCH LANDING ASSURED/OFF<br />
When the LANDING is ASSURED, depress the BATTERY MASTER<br />
SWITCH to the OFF position.<br />
26. CABIN DOOR UNLATCH<br />
Lift the interior door handles to UNLATCH and open the CABIN DOOR to<br />
prevent the possibility of having the cabin doors jammed upon landing.<br />
Once opened, place the interior door handles in the locked (full forward,<br />
down) position to prevent the doors from closing and latching.<br />
27. TOUCHDOWN SLIGHTLY TAIL-LOW<br />
Touch down in a SLIGHTLY TAIL-LOW attitude to aid in slowing the<br />
airplane during the landing roll.<br />
28. BRAKES APPLY HEAVILY<br />
APPLY the BRAKES HEAVILY, or as necessary, to stop the airplane prior<br />
to encountering any surrounding obstructions or rough terrain surfaces.<br />
